Swift-Tuning

Brushless 101

CC P-80 Setup

Manuals

(Target Head Speed x Main Gear Teeth) / (Motor Kv x Voltage x Percent Motor Efficiency) = Pinion Gear Teeth

If you know the pinion size:

(Motor Kv x Voltage x Percent Motor Efficiency x Pinion Gear Teeth) / Main Gear Teeth = Target Head Speed

Given the increasing popularity of swift, I thought it would be cool for everyone to share in one thread their set-ups along with any comments you would like to add at the bottom.

This could be used for all future inquiries. Fill out what you can and come back for the remainder whenever.

Cut and paste and fill away!!!

This motor can handle any .60 and most .90 planks...so imagine the power behind the swift at 7 lbs gross-max.

3D: Are you crazy? I 3D only on Reflex for now!

Comments: With the 9 tooth pinion the motor stays warm and the head speed whilst a bit low the heli is very predictable and flys quite well. I will run it like this for a while till I get used to it and feel like going to 3D. I like the added run time. In about 5 mins I can change to a 11 tooth for crazy head speeds (about 2150 RPM!) when needed to show off, not that I ever try to do that.

I'm really glad I made the switch from the smaller heli's. The 3D pro was too twitchy, the T-rex was ok and the Eco 8 was pretty good but the Swift just rules.

3D: 7 min with the 2200mAh

Comments: This setup haven't been tried yet, but I expect it to be very powerfull. This powersystem could fly an electric R50, so I can't wait to see how it'll carry the swift. If I'm not satisfied by the CSM SL420, I'll change it for a GY401 and if ever ever I got a cutout from the Jazz 40, I'll change it for a phoenix 45HV.

Pistol_pete.. I borrowed your thread idea and tossed one onto RCG to add on to it.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=503502

I'm running a 9T on the 1907-1.5y.

Has anyone run a 10/11T and what would the most ideal pinion be for this lil' motor ?

w/ 6S2P 4200 or 7S1P Emoli pack.

Just aquired a box, its the orignal prototype one, that is one piece which will work well in the stock swift, cause it only has the one mount point unlike the new one which has 2, that wont work with the stock frame on a swift. This setup will also give much needed nose wieght by moving the motor farther forward.

Imitation is the best form of flattery...much oblige

Thanks to all participants...this should cut down the repetitious set up Q's seen in other threads...just adding a "BAM" to ours...then whomever can PM an individual directly to cut down on blahs and yadas

3Dont know I am not up to it yet!

Comments:Great economy setup can get longer flight times by lowering the collective/throttle curves up to 14mins with Flightpower pack and 12mins with the cheap HiModel pack, but its more fun with them set higher! will get an outrunner when funds allow but for now very happy with mine its a great heli.
