Been flying Rexes almost exclusively for almost 9 months now...Learning curve was steep, discovered all of my transient electronic issues (Including the famous smoking ESC) were solved by going to the Spektrum...As far as Andy goes, as a small businessman he is VERY responsive to customer issues. He's replaced parts for me that I screwed up as I was learning the ins and outs of the Rex...I wish those who complain about the rex would have seen one of the first production units...Align has done more to fix issues in a shorter time than any other company I've dealt with.
After a few false starts, I now have micros that will do anything my R 90 wil do except auto..
The devil is in the details..The micros in general seem to require a new level of commitment to detail in every aspect of construction, but the results are worth it.
John.

Dr. Dot, your experience is unique. the common response from align usa is no response.....no reply to emails, and parts that are not returned/replaced when send to them.

Furthermore, Love the Helicopter, but maybe the customer service department only knows about sweepers and blenders and not batteries.

Well, my 600XL motor snapped its shaft on the 3rd flight. I saw that a recall was posted here on Runryder by Align USA, so I called them and asked if there was a recall and they said NO! When I said you posted on Runryder that there is then they said "oh yeah, there is." That left a bad taste in my mouth immediately that they tried to get away with replacing one less defective motor. I sent them my motor mid January, and it's now March. I called them a few days ago and they said they didn't have it. I told them they did and gave them the tracking number, day of delivery, time of delivery, and who signed for it. I was asked multiple times if it was a small box. Well duh, it was only a motor. After numerous phone calls I was told they would send me one. Then a call back to tell me they were out of that motor. I got a call today saying it would ship out today, we'll see if I ever get it.

I had a problem out of the box with a stripped motor mount hole, called them and they replaced it no problems. I had a brand new motor in less than a week.

I haven't had any serious issues with my Rex. Been pretty happy with it overall. Had a swash go bad on me but I knew about that issue beforehand. I should have fixed or replaced it before it went out. I admit I was pushing the thing really hard, doing pitch pumps etc. so I guess it was to be expected.
Had my ESC cutout on me but I was running a battery that was old and too small.
Had a belt go out on me but I think I had the belt too tight.
I own other helis that take a lot more work and a lot more tinkering to keep them in the air.
The Rex gets the most use and requires the least work.

I know people have had plenty of problems, but I have been very happy with mine. It has definitely been my beater helicopter. I smash that little guy all the time learning. Crash costs are so reasonable it just makes sense. I have put at least 600-700 flights on it with no real issues. I have lost a link a few times, but I would put that blame on myself for not doing a thurow preflight check. My esc did go out, but it was after a lot of flights and I feel that I got my money out of it. Either way I am very pleased with what I got for the money. I have not had any problems with replacement parts and I have ordered plenty. I think the quality has improved since the 450x days and hopefully will keep on improving.

I'm just wondering what kind of life a person has if they hang out on a helicopter forum just to bash helicopters when they've admitted publicly that they dont even own a helicopter...

In "his" defense, he used to have a T-Rex. I think back when this thread was created (if you go to the first post you'll see it was some time ago) there were a few more legit complaints when it comes to Align quality.
I've pretty much replaced everything that is mentioned in this thread, hence why it's been so long since I've posted here. There was a time though, that I was seriously disappointed in Align... and Assurance RC's inability to make any of it right got me that much more PO'd about the failures I had.
I've still got a hybrid swash here that they refused to take back, for example.

Lol, you still believe that? What did you do to the poor guy willy? Go easy man!
In align USA's defense, They replaced an ESC I smoked in about a week.. no questions asked.
Thats the only time I have delt with them, so all I can say is positive in that area
Weather or not the ESC should have smoked in the first place might be another issue though..

Andy told me I needed to take it up with the vendor. Chandlier at Like90... I responded to let him know that Chandlier was no longer doing that kind of business and never heard back from him.

ALIGN USA RESULS ESC 75AMP smoked before #1 spoolup = Replaced First gen 600L motor shaft side play = Replaced with gen 1 XL w/small fee. XL motor developed side play = Replaced TREX600 swashplate 2mm up/down slop = Replaced
Everthing I mentioned above was replaced to me overseas with no questions asked. My swash showed slop after 100+ flights. I did not expect ALIGN to send me a whole new swash after that many flights. To each their own, but ALIGN has done me right! Sorry to here about all the bad press, but I just can't sit here without giving my excellent results so far.
