Anyone replaced the muffler that comes with the kit for another make e.g. zimmerman etc?
Just wondering what improvements you've noticed.

Although I can not testify I have heard the stock muffler is really good and the price of a new muffler compared to the gains is not worth the investment.

Hello,

I change on both caliber 30 (because the 2nd caliber is a second never run hand and the old user acquire 2 wonderful in a box hatori 350 and 337). see my homepage for picture. A big increase in power using 1% nitro (:-) in France we do not run often with 15 or 30%, costing too much....)
But i use them only because i have them, the stock mufler is quite good, even better if you drill 4 hole in it (see tips section)

Any chance you can post a link to the tips section as your java menu does not work on my browser (IE 6)

Thanks
Steve.

for limey :

Are you using IE6 under windows XP ???? It can be because Xp do not have a regular Java virtual machine.....(I mean Sun standard)

Pour David,

Merci tu sais c'est vraiment parce que les pots "trainaient" dans leur boite que je les utilise, sinon j'etait tres satisfait du pot d'origine.

I am using IE 6 on Windows 2000. I have also tried Mozzila 1.1.

The Java applet throws an exception, java.lang.NullPointerException.

Thanks for the link, would try drilling those holes in the muffler, but I JB welded the end on to the muffler, so it wouldn't come loose!!

Thanks!
Steve.

Whick JDK or JVM do you have on your PC ? open a console windows, (start execute then type cmd then enter) and type "java -version", if it is not working then you have a JRE, java runtime environment coming from your browser.....My homepage is working on my pc under ie6 and opera.... but anyways it rely on jdk (i am a developer so my machine is not a standard one ;-) )

C:\>java -version
java version "1.4.0_01"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.0_01-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.0_01-b03, mixed mode)

Personally I would try and steer clear of Java menu's due to the incompatibility they often cause across browsers, or failing that have two menu's, one Java based and one simple html links based so that people who can not use the java editor can still view the site.

We use the menu from milonic.co.uk which is a very good DHTML menu system.

All the best,
Steve.

muffler

not the new ones, they are same, some of them in the difference of 10-20 grams, what doesnt make any difference, even for 30 size.
but you will get muffler for next few years, with 1 year full garranty, no one will give such a deal.

My C30 has 6 holes drilled in the plate and is still quite and runs great. With the extra stuff (frame bracing, 3rd tail boom, header tank and Rappy landing struts) my C30 is now 6lb14oz. With this weight I can only pull 9 deg of pitch and the engine complains when full cyclic is added at full pitch. I have a KJS muffler and a Weston pipe I will be trying over the winter.
