TPPacks says this motor would be good for a Logo 24 or a stretched 700ep
with 700mm blades and using 4200 12S2P pack.

Click on the link and you will see what it can do. Here is the quote.
"The most powerful 90-sized motor tested around these parts, period! Unbelievable, stump-pulling torque. Use in a stretched (690-700 blades) Logo 24 ( 18T pinion) with two 6s2p-4200 connected in series for a 12s2p-4200 configuration for the most insane power ever attempted in an electric helicopter. Also will be perfect in a stretched XeroG-700EP (85T/12T), with 700 blades, a metal head and the same 12s2p-4200 setup."

I have a few questions regarding an E Raptor conversion. I have a Raptor 30 that I'm going to convert and after reading up on this subject I'm wondering if my setup is going to work. I just bought the heli in fact I'm waiting for the mail man to drop it off anyday now. I bought a TP Packs conversion kit, Hacker A50-12S and a TP10s4000 battery from someone here on RR. I also have a CC 45HV that I bought. My question is this....from reading about this setup I have it sounds like it's more geared for a 50 and not a 30. Will this work on my 30 ?? I already have a small fortune invested and don't want to try to sell any of this and buy new gear again. All I'm missing is a charger and ballancer and I'm set....I hope. I have an MX 400 and love it...the "E" bug bit me hard. In fact I'm selling my micro setup to help fund this project. I'm hoping to fly for around 8 to 10 min just forward flight and alittle "mild" 3D....I have a few helis and they can outfly me....I'm a beginner at best. Thanks for everyones input and advice.

Your set up of the R30 using 86/9 gearing might work OK, using 550mm blades the HS speed might be a little high. You may have to dail down the throttle to get the HS down to some. But all you would need to do would be to stick a R50 boom and belt or even get the new Titan boom and belt and use some 600mm blades. You could leave the 30 gearing or change to the 50 gearing (85/10). With the 50 gears and 10S2p LiPos and 100% throttle the HS should be around 2150 or so, thats what Gary Goodrum says anyway. Mine set up this way is 2160 at 95% throttle curve. Did you get the CCPM conversion, if not you should. Good luck, you'll like it for sure if you liked the MX400.

Thanks for the info.....I have a Raptor 50 "slimer" I guess I could turn that into the E Heli and not worrie much about the H/S. I have another dumb question. I have the Hacker motor....3 wires....all of them have black insulation on them. How do I know which ones connect to what if they are not color coded ? The manual with the motor says nothing about hookup. I hate to connect it wrong and "poof"...up in smoke !! Or wourse yet the first time I fire it up it takes off like a banshee chasing my neighbors cat

Also...what's good a charger ? Man this lipo thing just scares the hell out of me....I used to play with electric rc cars back in the old days of nicads...plug and forget em for awhile and the charger beeps and your good to go. Now with these lipos you need to have your lacal fire department there on standby with the ladder truck. I was looking at the T/P charger....unless I read about it wrong it sounds like it's plug and charge...automatic. Does anyone have a Thunderpower charger and ballancer ?? That's the one I'm leaning towards buying.

just got my Titan 50 e-raptor from TPpacks. What a beauti I am using 12s Emoli packs and a neu 1910 1.5 with a Pheonix HV 85 Talk about SWEET!!! I will post picks later. I am running 610 on the blades and 95 on the tail. I am using a Arizona regulator and 7.4 volt flight pack. Batteries charge in about 20 minutes. I have 6 cells up front and 6 in the rear. The only thing I haven't done yet is get the ccpm setup.

Just connect the wires to the ESC and if the rotation is wrong change any two wires, it won't smoke.

The TP1010 is to my knowledge the only charger that you can charge 10 LiPo cells at once and if you have a 10S2P you will have to have a charger that will charge 10 cells or take it apart and make 2 - 5S2P packs. You also need to buy a TP210 balancer, the balancer will connect to the charger and keep the cells balanced. Keeping LiPo cells balanced is a must. TPPacks has the combo for $189.00, if he has any in stock. There are several other places you can get the TP1010 and TP210 for about the same money. I have a TP1010, a TP210 and a TP205, I also have an Astro 109. The Astro 109 is OK but will not charge 10 cells, only up to 9 cells and its not quite as inteligent as the 1010. The 1010 has a 10 battery memory, choises of 50%, 95%, 100%, Fast charge, Storage or Li-on packs. It can charge up to 8.25 amps, but it takes a 25 amp power supply. I use the 12.5 amp. Astro 120 power supply since I already had it. At the field I use my truck battery to charge the Emolis at 2C (6 amps), the Astro 120 want do that.

You may want to buy some Emoli Ion cells, Milwaukee tool packs. There are several threads here about these batteries, they are less expensive but not as high mah as the LiPos so you have to use more cells to do close to the same job as the LiPos. You can buy enough packs to make six 6S packs for about the cost of a 10S2P LiPo pack. If you did that you would need to get a CC 85HV, the HV45 isn't quit enough. I still use the HV45 in my Emoli Raptor but it really needs the 85.

Thanks for the info. I looked at what Gary had to say about the 30 and that is what got me to thinking that my setup wouldn't work on the 30. Where can I find the 8s4200 batts at ? I couldn't find them on TP Packs site ? I really don't want to take the engine out of my 50 and use that heli for my E setup. I have it setup perfect and it flys great. That's why I bought a new 30 for the conversion. Not to mention I would have to try to sell the motor and battery I already have. I don't know...maybe I'll throw the battery and motor up here and see what comes up. Could I use the A50-12S I already have with an 8S 4200 battery ??

Thanks.

Thanks, I'll look at it for future purchase.

Let me ask Gary what he thinks about the A50 12S on 8S2P. As far as an 8S pack just get 2 - 4S2P packs and "Y" them together in series.

The A50 10S is 588 Kv/V and the A50 12S is 492 Kv/V, so the A 50 12S on 8S pack should really work fine. Like I said before if it doesn't fly like you want it to all you really need to do would be to install a 50 boom and use 600mm blades with the equipment you now have.
