I'm looking to make a set of retracts for a trex. If anyone hase made some and would like to share pics and tips on "how to" I would be appreciative. Thanks.

I made a set for my Flying Hobbies Bell 222. It took about 3 tries before I got it right but it works great. I made the retracts from scratch using standard hobby supplies and have a Hitec HS-56HB servo mounted inside the frame to operate them. I added a Servo Rate Reducer to slow the retracts down for a more scale look. I have some more pictures in my Gallery

The main thing you have to do is make sure in the down position the lever arm will bottom out in a way it will put no strain on the servo and at the same time hold the weight of the heli. This is a must when using a standard servo. I don't think that would be the case if you use a retract servo that uses a worm gear. Which Airwolf fuselage did you get? Be sure to take and post pictures.
Good luck

Hey tisrich, SWEET,
Looks like you did a fantastic job on your Bell 222. I like the color and paint scheme chose. Have you had it in the air yet? You are gonna love the way the Trex flies with a Bell 222 fuselage, I think it flies much better than a stock canopy. At least mine dose. I am getting ready to put some navigation led lights on mine.

Thanks for the replies. Hey DarthDrk, do you have any pics you could share of the actual retract assembly. I am trying to gather information before I build. Thanks.
