Like I said in my post before this is real he really modified it to hover upside down.

You lie

As I said, just look at the video. The perspective is obviously more natural in my inverted version.

It is simply impossible. The cx does not have that capability. I just came back form flying it (2 packs) and the motors don't have the power to do that. Plus there is not enough thow from the swash to make bank forward or backward in order to flip the heli. Plus, as mentioned before, it does not have negative pitch, nor idele up. It is mechanicanicaly impossible. The picture has been doctored.

Whatever turns out from all this, on the other hand who's to say a CX is not meant to be flown outdoors?

YES!!

Old Post, but i got to add my $0.02...

To all those touting the PhotoShop idea, I have found this IS possible..

it works fine until the tail hunts, then the "gyro" takes over and makes it spin uncontrolably.. There is plenty of power, however, you do have to start inverted and catch it inverted to stop..

The issue is with the Gyro.. We need to find a way to reverse the gyro.. I am thinking about fliping the polarity of the motor, as well as location on the 4-in-1..

I'll keep you posted!! I can tell it will work, at least for a short time just by flipping the blades!!

Hmmmmm. Can you put the blades on upside down and start inverted?

RE: Hmmmmm. Can you put the blades on upside down and start inverted?

Yes, you can.. Just flop the bladesupside down, and hold inverted by the landing skids. If you are not steady, the gyro will kick in and it is working in reverse, so what it thinks is a little gyro input to correct the tail actualy spins the tail faster!

You can not do it for long.. My next attempt will be to put the lower blades on the upper and swap polarity on the motors.. I think this will make the gyro correct in the right direction.

What you need to do to correct the gyro problem is put the top blades on the bottom and the bottom blades on the top but in the upside down position. This will have the gyro working in the same manner. If you reverse the polarity of one motor you will screw up the counter rotating rotors and they will spin in the smae direction totally throwing off all aspects of the twin rotor.
I havent tried these yet just logics by looking at the heli.

If you turn a gyro upside down in a regular heli it works backwards. that's why some of them like the Futaba gy401 have a reverse switch. if you turned the 3-in-one or whatever is in the cx upside down, that might be the best approach.

Upside down

Hmm.. I reversed the blades to face down, but reversed polarity to change the direction of the rotation...

One set of blades has the ball joints further out. I am not 100% sure that trading tops for bottoms will work..

Only one way to find out!! I'll keep you posted!!

OK for all you ?ing the inverted cx, IT IS POSSIBLE. I have to admit i loved reading the comments and especially the "correct" picture, lol but it is true. i know a website that shows inverted flight including actually manuvering around the room a bit. requires simply reversing polarity on motors and mounting the rotor blades upside down, then will fly ok, not very stable but can hover ok, just dont move to quik. the site is boomtownhobbies.com i believe and just follow links to videos.

if you put the bottom blades on the top and the top ones on the bottom then how would the stabilizer fit onto the bottom blades?

here is a video of a blade cx flying invertedhttp://video.google.com/videoplay?d...graded+blade+cx

Now this is an interesting post. As I look at the picture I see a shadow on the wall of a cx right side up. You can see the body shadow of the cx on the wall about the elevation of the so called inverted cx landing skids. From there I see the shaft extending upward where I see 2 sets of blades. Funny the shadow is in an upright position on the wall behind the dude and the heli is inverted. Very Cool Dude!

Whirlydude,

I guess I don't see what you are looking at. The shadow is upside down as well in the video.

My buddy JTerrell is thinking of filing a patent infringement against the guy with the video!!

He still has the original inverted version.
