Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Gohbee 50 collective pitch questions

The 50 is like the TRex so maybe some of you gusy can help me on this too.

I have been flying helis for a couple of years now so I bought a Gohbee 50 to get a little more advanced. But I have come across a problem with the collective that does not seem right.

I set the collective for +10 to -10. In Idle 2 I can go +10 to -10 and Idle 1 +9 to -9. I am flying with carbon fiber blades and I have the Hyper 50. I am running a throttle jockey and a head spead of about 1950 RPM.

Problem: With my pitch gage the pitch is -10 to +10. However, when I fly the heli, it acts as though I have -12 to +7. When I give full throttle to climp out from a hover, the heli goes up very slowly with no bogging of the engine. When I go inverted and attempt to climp out, the engine bogs out and I have to reduce pitch to regain rotor rpm. So statically I have to set the pitch for -8 to +12. I have checked for slop in the system but it does not seem bad. I owned a Hawk sport before and I had no trouble setting the pitch on it.

Why is this happening?

Thanks, Gary

Running a header? It my just be going rich when you go inverted especially if the center line of the tank is below the center line of the carb.

I have the same thoughts as barracudahockey, that you may have the motor too rich.
This may cause the governer to struggle.
I would set pitch and throttle curves (inc mixture)first to a good flying condition. This is to keep the governer out of the equation to start with then when you are happy, reactivate the governer.

Yes, to header

Yes, I am running a header.
The midrange may be a little rich. Still doesn't really explain the lack of thrust going up. Especially with a head speed of 1950 seems like the heli would either go up or bog out. I will lean out a little more and check out again tomorrow.
Thanks,for the input.

i have had the same problem with my stinger head on the raptor. has something to do with the fit of the main grip and bearings on the feathering shaft. the main blades droop when using a pitch guage and introduce a little negative pitch. -12 looks cool for inverted climbouts. you will also find that your middle stick position when flying is not 0Degrees, but somewhere around -2.
