It's been a week since the tech update and since filling out form which asked for an email address.

It clearly states..."Allow two to three weeks for delivery of revised parts" ( one down and two to go )

Has anyone even received and email confirming receipt of request?

What update are you referring to and where do I find out about it? I have a new Swift in the final stages of construction so is it something I should be aware of.

I'm not Pete but the answer to your question (since he hasn't replied yet) is the first thread in this forum. Century is replacing parts that lead to the shakes.......

Anybody get their parts yet?

I might have to give Century a call to try to get an ETA.

Dying to finish up my Swift.....

You would think the form would suffice but I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease

ozace,

I see you as a special case. You bought yours last year, contacted them several times with no results, and have been very vocal on rcgroups about your lack of century support, plus you're in Australia.

Out of everyone else who filled out the webform like we were asked to, no one has spoken of receiving their parts yet.

I filled mine out the day it went up which was the 24th of march, they said 2 - 3 weeks.

Friday 2 days from now will be 3 weeks, and no reports of any yet, so magically everyone will get theirs on Friday?

If the response time is 2-3 weeks, many should have received their parts by now.

De, i cant dissagree with what you said. I do have an early swift and spent way too much time trying to get is flyable.

I was as annoyed as any one could be, especially as i have a few helis to compare it with. All i can say is what happened in my case.

Because i am not in a zone with Century dealers i had to go direct to the company, i had no where else to turn to.

What i can say is if the update they send out inludes the headblock and dampners, LG if needed, it shoud fix all the dancing.

That is what happened in my case and i am not a century cheerleader, just a regular joe average consumer on the other side of the world, who happens to have a few E helis.

I do wish the communication was better from HQ as it would relax most of us if we were just kept up to date with the goings on.

As an aside to this topic my NEW VERSION (yellow canopy, heavier landing gear) is finished and has no signs of vibration on spoolup or shutdown at all. Pulled the head apart and checked the feathing shaft and the centre ball has lots of room in the bore so I guess that must be the answer.

I got it today !!
I recieved a yellow padded envelope with 1x new ver headblock and a pair of the new landing struts. It came with all the neccesary hardware as well.

It took almost exactly 3 weeks.

Now to install it.

I slid a brand new feathering spindle into the new headblock and it still was a snug fit. I really had to center the spindle ball in the middle of the hb. Upon inspection , i found some flashing left in the head block hole. Cleaned it out and ran the spindle shaft through it to help smoothin it out.
I still has a bit of resistance...should the spindle shaft slide through with out any?

I just had a crash on my "Newer Yellow canopied" swift and when I replaced the feathering shaft it to was tight. I just chucked it in a cordless drill and laid a file on it and hit the trigger. Did it for a couple seconds then tried it again till it was just right. Spooled it up and it was perfectly shake free as it was when I recieved it. For clarification, you don't want a "flat" spot on the ball cause then it won't pivot, which it needs to do so make sure you sand/file the whole ball not just the top.

Tom

BTW It will fly in 20+ mph winds I just not quick enough to control it though! Stuff happens real fast!

I'm married so you know I am no stranger to pain!

Haven't checked mail today....hmmmm

A little birdie told me that it will be a mass mailing thing as they are working on directions and pics on the "how to" part for the technically challenged...because you know someone will complain about it...so might as well include it.

Nope...nothing in mail today but did get what I ordered priority mail earlier this week...hoping it would arrive at the same time...tomorrow is another day.

No worries...patience is a virtue and I'm happy that indeed they at least addressed the issue...looking forward to Friday.
