I have a Piccolo V2. It is pretty much a paper weight. I bought it new, and something always seems to go wrong within two minutes of attempting to fly it. I'm talking tail rotor is burnt out, board will not initialize. You name it. Anyway.

Is there anyway that I can salvage the piccolo board itself? I would like to put it on a Blade cp frame and attempt to make it collective pitch. I thought that I read somewhere that all you need is a y-connector. Is this possible? Or is this just a paper weight?

Piccolo board & Blade CP

Let me rephrase my question. I have a Piccolo V2. The board and the 4 channel receiver, and the 2 hitec servos are good. Can I take the electronics off of the Piccolo place it on a blade CP frame and run it that way?

I would think that it should be feasible if I were to get a 5 channel receiver. I just do not understand the BEC circuit. I am assuming that is a part of the Piccolo board?

Would this work?

IMHO you're trying to salvage the wrong item. Personally I hate the Piccoboard.

The Piccolo V2 is pretty good using separates with a HH gyro (except for the swashplate, which is crap). Don't salvage the Piccoboard - throw it away instead.

That gets me down. I just paid to have the board refurbed. The V2 keeps eating the gears off of the main rotor. It looks like the gear on the motor is wobbling? This thing has not been in the air for two minutes. Something always seems to go wrong. I replaced the tail motor already? I am talking two minutes of flight time? I thought that maybe I could use the board for something. If not the whole thing is a paper weight.

Sounds like your gear mesh is too tight, and various other problems.

You should go through the Post-construction/ARF checklist in the EHBG.

I appreciate the the web site, but I have a Blade CP, and a Hawk Pro.

The CP Works great, and I have made some mods.

The Hawk Pro, engine died just after it started up. (sent it back, waiting for return)

The Piccolo, its never been two feet off the ground. I replaced the tail motor with the blade CP set up. I've just been dumping cash into it, but it doesn't fly. If it flew, I would mind.

Hi Zaneman007,

Funny you should ask. I was putting together a Hummingbird FP and eyeballed my piccolo pro sitting under the stairs, never could get the darn thing flying worth a darn.

I have slapped the picoboard plus with HH module on my fp, popped the servos off the piccolo and put them (2 of them) on my fp.

She flys! I can't remember how to adjust the piccoboard, so I have had to spend a little time with trial and error on the sense and mix pots, but my fp is happy.

I'm happy that I did not have to go buy are reciever, two esc's and got a hh gyro to boot.

The picoboard has an iffy reputation, but I'd give it a try, nothing ventured nothing gained.

Cheers,
Leslie

Personally, I don't like the piccoboard very much.

The best use I have found for it is spreading butter on toast.

Hi all,

TMorita, I have not found one piece of the piccolo product line very inspiring. My piccolo pro was total crap.

I have managed to resurrect the piccoboard on my hummingbird fp with mixed results. the receiver is fine and the esc's are okay, but i have a HH module that is very lack lustre.`

I suspect I will remove it and setup revo mixing in my radio.

the only good thing about it is I was able to recycle it to my fp and save myself the cost of a couple esc's and an rx.

Cheers,
Leslie

Actually, I like the Piccolo (except for the swashplate, which I've destroyed many times).
