i use a thunderpower 1320mAh 11.1v prolite pack on my king. I used to use TP 900 11.1v packs on my Blade CP but that pack is not enough for the king. You really need a 1300mAh pack for decent flight time.

My pack has a 13c (17amp) continuous and 17c (22 amp) max rating

I try the 1300mah pack from Helidirect... not enough power...

My two stock 1200mah are more powerfull...

I think I will try this one:

What do you think?

It's hard to tell when it comes to batteries. Some packs just can't deliver the power and it's hard to tell from manufacturer hype. It definitally looks ok being a 15c pack but personally I just spend the extra cash and buy TP batteries. I don't use anything else

Try using two battery's at the same time... You will have all the amps you will need,,,, but keep them the same volts...
Like two 7C 1000 mAh battery's will give you,,,14 amps!!!and 2000mAh..
Two,,, 1300mAh battery's with 7C rating will give you..18.2 amps!!!
Should work great!! If your not doing any 3D flying!!!Or it might be to heavy??
I have heard that the King with Brushless setup doesn't pull over 14 to 15 amps!!!With full throttle....

Good luck getting 2 packs to fit on the king lol. I've got enough problems getting my 1 1320mAh pack on my airframe. I guess I could do it if i didnt put the canopy on but then it looks like crap.

I don't think it would be so hard to put two battery's on the King?
Just mount it under say,,, the main axle gear at the balancing point.
If there is enough room? But I bet it could be done..And most time I fly my helicopters with out the body on them to help with heat!!!And always when just hovering trying new things... Just makes sense to me to keep motors as cool as one can...

Drew, it comes with a speed 370 motor I believe. It's not brushless. I recommended several brushless motors eariler in this thread.

As far as the packs, It's hard enough to balance it with one pack. Having a second farther back won't do you any good. Plus the added weight if you stay on the stock motor. I would not recommend it. The perfect size pack for this heli is the 1300mAh packs with a fairly high discharge rate.

Heat is a serious issue with the stock motor with or without the canopy. The canopy on this thing is not going to really make the motor run any cooler leaving it off. I have dual heat sinks on mine and it gets hot enough to melt the canopy and some people have even had the solder on the motor wires soften and come loose in flight. The motor runs very hot. Adding any more weight to it than you have to is not a good idea.

I refuse to fly on cheap batteries. That's just me.

I don't enjoy flying my helis with the canopy off. Just looks horrible like that. You can put a t-rex canopy on it quite easily and it makes it look like a mini raptor and you get some extra space with the larger canopy.

Just bought a King not too long ago, and I'm interested in a Trex body; any idea of hows to modify it so it will fit my King? Will I have to move the mounting holes, or will I just have to do some cutting? Any insight would be well appreciated. Thanks - "Rare Bear"

You will need to trim it to get it to look right on the heli. It sticks out a little far with where the mounting holes are so it's a good idea to move them forward a bit and trim off some of the rear of the canopy.

Hi Rare Bear, I just received a brand new X400 canopy + a separate clear windshield wich is the same look of the Trex X, but made with more solid plastic...

I decide not to use it with my HB King...

If you want it, it is yours...

Martin - that's really cool of you to offer your MX-400 canopy to me as you did - your a classy guy. Unfortunately, you're in Canada, wheras I'm in the U.S., so the shipping alone would be as much or more than the cost of the canopy, so I'll just order one for myself when the time comes. Thank you so much, though - ever so nice to run across decent, generous people like you. God bless you & Happy flying - "Rare Bear"

Hi Rare Bear, It`s your choice... Of course if I send you those parts, I will put a 3$ stamp on it for I guess 10 days delivery... not 25$ for next day before 8h00 Am delivery
I think I paid 7-8$for the canopy and 4-5$ for the clear windshield..

You are welcome anyway.

good to hear it, however the parts that really need to be aluminized are the see saw and fly barlinks, ive replaced these parts more than just about every part besides the blades.

I finally got my King flying the last few days. It flies amazing and has no vibes at all to speak of. Here's a video of the trimming flight. Still working on getting my radio setup the way I want it. I'm definitally going to have to go brushless. The stock motor is really only good for hovering and some slow forward flight. The pitch really needs to be around +6 max on that motor.

Here's the Video: E-Sky King Trimming Flight is the second video in the post

I picked up a t-rex canopy for it. Looks pretty good. Gonna paint it then remove the solid window area and put the tinted one in. Gonna look pretty nice I think. My mini-raptor
