e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Esky HB CP2 severe altitudechanges in hover

Hi all..

I have a HB cp2 that has started to jump around like crazy in what should be a nice hover. I have rebuilt the head, lubed up all links and checked that everything moves smoothly. We are not talking about small altitude changes, but more like sudden climb followed by fast descent as much as 2-3 feet.
Seems to me like cyclic input affects the pitch, and makes the altitude changes even worse.

I have upgraded to brushless main motor, modded the 4in1 to work with a computerTX and replaced the esky-servos with some quite fast Waypoint 060BB and flying CF-blades.

I have rebuilt the head with new parts, fine tuned bladetracking, applied the sticky pitch fix and balanced the heli.

Anyone know what causes this problem?
Or even better, experienced it and knows how to fix it?

Thanx in advance for all answers...

Best regards, JoE

Since you have everything moveing freely, I would say you have a bad or lazy servo. make sure all are moving the same speed.

Having a bad servo will give you this problems with a CCPM setup

-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-

hmmm

Thanks, that makes sense.. Servos are quite new, but IŽll check it out tomorrow. I see now that one servoarm isnŽt centered, iŽll correct this and doublecheck that the z-bends move freely (only thing I forgot)..

Keep posting your suggestions

Not a lipo problem

Hi and thanks for your post.

I really donŽt think this is a lipo problem. I have checked voltage on all the cells in my batterypacks, and it seems fine. I have also balanced all my packs, and double checked voltage..

I still think the servo or servo linkage may cause this, but if you have other suggestions; please post..

Best regards

Hi

Mine was doing the same thing last night so I took the feathering spindle out and used fueld tubing for the rubbers that go in there instead of the o' rings, it was fine after that.

There is too much slop in there! three things to watch out for with em are bent feathering spindle, dodgy servos, and the o'rings.

Sort them and it will be smooth as can be!

I will elaborate a little you need to cut some slightly thicker o' rings from fuel tubing (the thick silicone stuff)sling the original o' rings in the bin, tighten the feathering spindle up and hey presto much tighter! You shoud be able to get the blades tracking much better after this fix also.

Nice tip

Thanks djtilko, that was a neat little trick..

I have done a similar mod, but i added a washer on each side; between the stepped washer and the o-ring. IŽll discard my solution to the spindle slop issue and try yours; sounds like a better solution!

edit// btw what are the dimensions on the fueltube you use?

Keep em coming

Fueltube did the trick

Thanks a lot to djtilko, it was the fueltube trick that solved my problem. I checked it out last night, and my heli has never flown better.
