e-E-Flite Blade CP CX 400-3D > new design HoneyBee CP2 head parts.

I need to replace worn head parts in my HB-CP2.

I just noticed that the "Center hub set (EK1-0228)" I have, is of a newer design. I have all other parts for the old design head.

What old design parts do not need to be replaced to work with the new head center hub?

Rotor head set (EK1-0229)?
Paddle control frame (outer) (EK1-0231)?
Pitch control link (EK1-0234)?

Does anyody have pictures of the new parts? complete head?

Thanks,

Mike.

replace

Hi, I've got a Twister CPV2, which is the same as the Honeybee and the Blade. Replaced the centre hub with EK1-0228, which was different to old parts (now squarer design).

If I remember correctly, did not have to replace any other parts. Straight changover, as height and distrance of travel and throw on flybar are the same.

Mike,
I installed the new head assembly on my CP2. All of the other parts fit without problem. BTW the new flybar carrier has brass bushings, no slop and works very well.

Mike,
I found these two shots. Maybe they will help.

Gary, Red,

Thanks for the pictures and comments. When I looked at the new center hub set, it looked like it won't fit, seemed wayyy smaller. Oh well, great, I'll swap the parts tonight

Gary, where exactly are the bushings located? the paddle control frame? in the rotor head set (in the mixing arms)?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,
In the mixing arms. Tiny little things that are a bit of a pain but once installed make a very smooth operating head.

Gary,

That is awesome, my mixing arms seem to be the first parts to develop slop. This is good news. Thanks.

I've got the new, bushed, rotor head assy on the "old" center hub and all is well. Hope this helps, Tom

I still don't see how I can get the new flybar-carrier onto the center hub.
Please see the attached picture:

Part C is the new center hub and I received part B with it. Note that B is one-piece! The center hub has notched corners and is thinner to prevent the flybar carrier from twisting and binding (the slider, part B, also has a role in this).

Now, how do I get part A. (old design) onto B and C? E-sky must have also redesigned A to allow fitting over B.

Has anyone used _this_ "new-new" E-sky head design?

Thanks,

Mike

If I understand this correctly, when the newest style Esky head parts came out, Balsapr.com and others were sending out rotor heads 0229 that were missing some of the bushings and screws. I got the incomplete rotor head and balsapr.com made good on it, no problem. The new rotor head will work on the old center hub. Hope this helps, Tom

Part B goes onto the center hub, then separate Part A taking off the screws and put it over part B.

They changed that a bunch. Now if the balls weren't all a bit undersized... Tom

theShark,

Thanks for the detailed photo. I can see that they indeed redesigned part A to split. I'll order a replacement.

Thanks,

Mike
