Hi all

Just an update on my Huey project. Still in the primer stages and in two parts to make it easier to work on. About done on the tail end...

Moving on to the fuse now.

Loads to do, hope to test fly in primer very soon.

Cheers

Hey Lee
I must come round for some tips with my Lynx. Still haven't got it started yet, though now have the petrol mechanics for it. Looks very good, where do you find the time??
Cheers

Lee, the rivets are outstanding. Which method do you use?

Cheers Guys,

The rivet method is simply using the Starwood kit.

Mark the lines down very lightly in pencil and dot away. make sure your spacing is right, I usually go by looks. In some areas I count the rivets on the full size to get it looking right.

Pretty quick method and very effective. Remember to check the panel joins where the lines cross over, most have a rivet in the centre. If you miss this it doesn't look right.

More to come soon when I add rivest to the rear section of the fuse.

Cheers Tim,

From you that means a great deal

Denis, missed your post sorry, yes sure we must get together anyway, keep saying we will. I haven't flown in months, we've had problems with our field as its up for sale and the owner wants us to keep away so we don't put off potential buyers, fair enough. He's never charged us.

Hopefully I'll join you on the Lynx build. I have a second set of Benzin mechs waiting to go into a fuse, as soon as the Huey is test flown, I can use the boom etc of its mechanics to transfer onto the mechs only set and get cracking.

Keep toying with Apache or Lynx, we'll see how I feel nearer the time. At the moment, I'm trying to get the Huey test flown but still have a few jobs on the list before I join it up !

Hopefully won't be long.

How do I find the time.......I don't as this would have been done a long while ago. Working nights helps but even then its hard to get in the mood.

Are you going to the BMFA Scale day in Kent, 2nd July ?? I hope to have this ready for then, best get cracking.

Hi Lee
I will be at as many events as I can this year(scale that is). Your machine is a work of art, you are best not to rush it. I have just sent the trubine back to it's rightful owner for the mechanics to be fitted (fat?) I have made new widnow moulds as the original were not too good.

I didn't click the add photo button but here is the edited post with the new window and mould. It has been polished and now makes a nice finish on the HIPS.
I'd like to come and see you and get some tips and inspiration as I'm losing heart with too many things on the go.
Cheers

Hi Denis,

Pm me, I'm off until Wednesday so anytime you fancy pop over.

The mould looks good, one thing I haven't ventured inot really is moulding, though I really should.

I have the Lynx now and have started fiddling around. Needs a lot of fiddling and reworking but I'll getbthere. had to order a new flexi drive from len as the original had been installed very poorly, beyond repair really.

I have a thread going over on SRCH if you want info on the Lynx so far, fitted the horizontal fin a few days ago, the method may come in use.

Aashu & Jeff, thanks the rivets are made by using the Starwood 'glue' rivet kit. What makes them shine is the laying out of the rivet lines and paying close attention to images of the full scale, laying them down is the easy part.

Cheers

Very nice detail. Do the blades spin or did you make them static?

Hi

The fan blades are static, may develop that as time goes on though with a small motor.

Bit more done on the underside.

Also figuring out the weapon mounts. I want to keep them as per the full scale so getting thgem strong enough is the trick. Luckily earlier placement of formers worked out well and puts them in the scale position.

Need to finsh them , hopefully today and start laying down rivets on the belly. Once thats complete I really need to get the boom on and start test flying.

Cheers

Cheers Guys,

Gonzalo, are you looking at the right thread ??

I hope to progress on this a bit quicker and at least get it flying in primer. Most of the tricky bits have been done now and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, well apart from the cockpit that is but I can do that when its flying.

Cheers
