In case you guys don't know, there's a cheaper alternative on batts. I've got the 10C 3850 from commonsenserc.com, and when compared to my 20C Polyquest 3700 on my Fliton Extra, they perform better.

600mm mains, well that is bigger than a Swift or a Logo 10 then...more of the size of a Logo 14 which would put it in the 50 class for sure not 30. And to add to that I would have to think this would be much more nimble on 10S Lipos vs 6S, pretty mild and slow in those videos with the 600s' If it is going to have to be 10S get ready to pump out $400 + USD a lipo to get performance out of this heli. Just my thought as that is what it takes to get the Logo 14 truly 3D aggressive is 10S Lipos.....

Skew,

Ya, you got me, wrong site. I was actually looking for the "How to fly your Trex Tank with car batteries Video site" and it pointed me here, Then I woke up.

Let me know how you make out on your purchase, cost wise that is, and don't strain your back getting it into your car, er...I mean truck.

well Scadas comments are abit on the harsh side, but I do agree to some note that the vid was not what I would have released. It should have been with a 10S2P battery as by watching that vid, it will need that. To me the videos were very mild and the heli didn't have all that much power & climbout. Sure the pilot had some decent collective management to throw in some moves but the consitent pitch pumping power was not there. I can almost guarantee you will the the punchy vids of this heli in the future running 10S2P lipos, you can mark this post me betting on it. To truly turn those 600 mains and keep em in the high 1900+ rpms it will 10S Lipos, so get out your visas cause the cheapest ones will run you $380 USD a peice folks. If I ran my L14s on 6S they would look something like those vids, camera ship like...

hey Jeremy was that a history leasson there, the t-rex eating raptors? hehehehe. I guess you are right in one way, offering another alternative to the heli and also drumming up some competition is a good thing. It should at least get Thunder Tiger motivated to actually do something and try to improve what they have in place, since they drag their arses so much and never listen to their customers. At least Align will lsiten and improve their heli! Peeeassshhhhh!

OK, I'll take back the flying cow thing, that was udderlly ridiculous on my part.

Hey, It looks cool, but it was seriously bogging when he was going through just simple moves. They are going to have to work on that power plant and weight ratio of that puppy before I buy one. Maybe a miniature Atomic Reactor?

I think you should judge the Heli and not the power package or at least keep it separate. Finding a power package will not be a problem. There are many affordable packages that are becoming available (i.e. Neu Orks, New Hackers and the eMolis Li Ion V28 packs) The V28 packs in a 10s1p to 12s1p that Gary is testing in the R50 setups cost under $200.

I'm sure if the Heli itself is a affordable quality package the power packages will be there. I have no plans in using Align motors or esc. Especially since the "biggest" Align esc is limited to 6s.

Thats my 2 cents.

Yup. This thing is going to need some 10S Lipo's or 11S to 12S eMolis to breathe some life into it. Looked really under powered in the videos compared to other 50 size ehelis that I've seen fly.

Did you notice that they kept the flight times under 3 minutes? I wonder why?

I fly the 50 size electrics and I am comfortable with that size in terms of price for the Lipos to fly them and the stability of a 50 size heli. It will be interesting to see what the final price will be for this new ship. But then again, I think I'll probably wait for version two.

I am keeping it seperate if you read the post. I think it may be a winner, I just state I think it requires 10S, given the video was a 6S setup, that is all for now. I am hoping they will get out some more details soon.

fwiw..

Gonna stick my neck out...I think what we'll finally get is a heli slightly smaller than what is shown in the vids...If this is glow convertible, why not the other way...shorter boom, 530/550 blades....

Time will tell...

John.
