I'd like to get just the canopy, saves the trouble of peeling off the CP2 stuff before I paint it.

I don't know why they call themselves HobbyJapan. They do NOT sell any Japanese brand RC stuff. All what I see is that they sell cheap Chinese imitation of e-flite's invention. Their name is misleading and their practice of selling imitations is unethical as far as I am concerned. They are able to sell it for $140 because they stole other's idea.

Hi Heli PIC, Do you think the honey Bee is an imitation of the Blade ?

They are both similar design, made in the same manufacture in China, and the Honey Bee series from Esky has been there before the E-flite Blade... not in USA but Worlwide...

The Blade is a Honey bee 2, (not Cp2), with a better looking canopy and 9.6v battery pack instead of 11.1v.

They surely do share similar head design with minor cosmetic differences. Both are well built and equally capable micros. I am not in any position to pass any judgement on who copied who. The point I am trying to make is that they false advertise themselves as HobbyJapan while they are not selling Japanese brand. Instead, they sell whole bunch of stuff that I know is substandard and not airworthy. Their practice ruins the good reputations that Japanese people have worked so hard to earn. I betcha that they are operating out of somewhere in China.

My appologies if this has been stated before...

...from hearing from various vendors this is my understanding; the eFlight Blade CP is Horizon Hobbies exclusive 'model', manufactured to Horizon's specs. It comes off the SAME assembly line as the eSky stuff (Honey Bee).

Lots of manufacturers will produce a specific spin off of a product for a large distributor like Horizon to brand as thier own.

I also like the canopy.

I agree somewhat with Heli PIC about chinese copy's. If you've ever tried to fly a Wakera heli out of the box, you'll know what I mean. You just don't know what you'll get. I bought a Chinese copy of the Hirobo xrb for $150 from a well known, on line shop, on special. It would barely get off of the ground and when it did it was uncontrollable. Anyone who has flown an XRB knows that they are the most stabile heli around.

I'm afraid that weather we like it or not, there are allot of products coming off the same assembly line and just re- badged, this is not just R/C helicopters. I was looking for a micro milling machine at one stage, found one I liked and did some research.
It turned it out that this machine was the same as about 4 other brands that came off the same assembly line in China but was painted their specified colour and badged accordingly.
From what I have found if you only pay $150 for something, be it an R/C helicopter or what ever else you aren’t getting a bargain you are getting what you paid for.
My son has a Blade CX and he loves it. It was more than $150 but it flew straight out of the box.
I brought a Walkera Dragonfly 36. I had to get a brushless on it and play around with it to get it to fly. I got what I paid for!

Don't know. All I am saying is the generally you get what you pay for, not that everything made in China is junk.
My brother has a Honey Bee CP-2 it flys fine and so does my sons Hney Bee fixed pitch.
I am also talking about New Zealand dollars not U.S dollars.
