Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Question for fellow Hawk owners

I have a problem.... This is the third or fourth Hawk I have built setup and test flown so you think I would have a clue.

Hawk III , OS 32 and century sacle silencer. As all of the previous ones were.

After spool up she lifts off intp a beautiful gentle hover .

After about a minute the tail will pitch out 6" to a foot and the the heli will drop a little ....Sounds like a little engine sag during the swing out as well.
I am stumped. I have excellent transition on the motor and the high end is a little fat for break in...Good smoke trail on 30% cool power.

Could I have a hole in a fuel line?
Could the one way bearing on the main saft be slightly slipping????

Help ..

Thanks Jason

What is your main needle set at? Try 2 turns out for 30%, If the eng is ok, then land immediatly after it acts up and rotate the mainshaft by hand to see if there is any binding from a BB heating up and seizing, anything is possible. Sounds like eng mis adjusted or a bad BB to me. What gyro are you using? Maybe its a combo of several things? Did you modify or upgrade anything over the kit?

engine problem?

Tailhook

Sounds like it could be a bad pot on the throttle or collective servo. Or a loose wire inside the TX on yur throttle collective stick.

Is all your equipment new or used? That would help to know. Oldheliman41

gyro location

Simple question a little off the subject though. Where do you usually mount your gyro on these? I can't decide if I want it in the dirt on the gyro tray provided or put a flat surface above the tail mount for it.

Thanks Scott S.

gyro mounting in Hawk

Scott
I always mount mine up front in behind the throttle and collective servos.

gyro

I have a single rate piezo but I'm not to sure it will fit in there without touching things. The instructions say it can't touch anything so I had kinda ruled that out, but if that works then that is where it will live.

Thanks Scott S.

How old is the auto hub?

May be the oil-not grease-has dried out in the auto hub. Try remove the auto bearing and soaking it in varsol to clean it, then replace the oil, maybe with a (Light oil) like a "3 in 1".Charles
