And the race forum is OPEN!!!!!!!

I have to admit, I am just learing to do those piro-tumbles, but this will definitely be home for me!!!

Some items I would like to see discussed:

1) SAFTEY!!!!!

2) Standardization of events. Distances, altitudes, etc

3) Maybe a series???

I have all the information from the IRCHA events and will try to get it up within a couple of days.

Any other thoughts????

Good idea...

I have seen Saftey mentioned a couple of times with regards to drag racing. Have you seen any major problems with drags?
I have not seen an event run yet where saftey was a concern. I am not flaming anyone here just trying to open my eyes a bit to something I may have overlooked?

The series idea is cool, but I think it would be hard to manage. Maybe have the IRCHA Drag queen for each IRCHA event? Then tally the Annual Queen from all the IRCHA events. Maybe assign a points system from each event that IRCHA sponsors and send all the total points to IRCHA before the Jamboree. The most points is the overall winner for the year?

You also mentioned altitude. Do you mean restrict the height you can fly? If so I think this would take something away from the event and deter new people from trying it.
Anyone that has tried to Drag a heli at those insane headspeeds we run knows just keeping it out of the dirt and in a straight line is hard enough let alone trying to keep it below 50 feet or what have you.
Now for Saftey sake making a floor to the drags would be ok. Say you have to get atleast 20 feet of altitude before the 1/3 mark?

I can see it now

I'm going to get my drag racer ready for the road. I plan on hitting all of the major events in the US to win the seasons high point championship. Lets see I will need a large truck and trailer (custom painted of coarse) to haul all the tools, machine tools and the huge number of spare parts needed to take the title, as well as the dozen or so heli's. I'll need to get an engine dyno to do proper engine tuning and testing, A thrust measurement device to test blade / engine combo's as well as a nanogram weigh scale to make sure everything is as light as possible. It's doable.
