Vario Sky Fox - Benzin - Evolution - Xtreme > Sky Fox - more than a scale hack?

Anyone flying a standard Sky Fox? Vario kit number 8009? I have one, with a Rossi 65, bought it to get into scale but have changed my mind, so I have been trying to sell it. However, a friend has just told me that he thinks of the Varios as being quite aerobatic, so is the standard Sky Fox aerobatic? If it is reasonable so, I may not sell it after all! There seems to be plenty of pitch available (27 degrees stop to stop!) but I have been flying it in ‘scale mode’ with a headspeed of about 1100.

Hope some of you can help, it is a nice heli, I was only selling it because I thought of it as a ‘scale-only’ model.

Cheers,

You can 3-d the skyfox if you set it up that way. You want to be sure to have the 10:1 gear ratio if you changed it for the scale heli. Otherwise, crank up the hovering throttle point and change your pitch curve and i think you will be surprised with the flying characteristics of this heli.

Cold FinnDave?

Sorry folks just a little inside joke.

29 degrees celsius here today Dave and looks like weekend will be similar

See you are considering keeping the Skyfox hope it works out fine and you don't have to part with her.

Good luck

Cold? No, that's warm snow falling past my window

Yeah, having a re-think on the Sky Fox - seems the best I can do if I sell it is get something older that may not be any more capable than the Vario. Think I'll get some more servos and get it ready for the field again (though I may not be flying much for the next 5 months!)

Dave,

I just did some house-cleaning in my computer room and noticed that I've got a Vario cd, which includes a video of Skyfox trainer. If you are interested in that mpeg I can attach it to e-mail and sent it to you?

It's about 40mb of some loops and rolls

Cheers

Terve, Jarno..

I have three of those Vario CDs! It was only very recently that I persuaded my computor to play them, though!
Please, no 40 Mb E mail! I still have a dial up line...until Sonera get my ADSL sorted out, hopefully next week!

Cheers
