Hello Caliber 60 owners

Have you ever notice you just cant reach the ON/OFF switch when the original canopy is mounted ? Anyone ever thought of re-locating the switch ?

I am tired of taking the canopy on and off just to flip the switch, can someone recommend a better location ? Or better yet, post a pic for reference here.

Thanks for helping out

I put the switch underneath the radio tray and drilled a big hole under the canopy for 1/. better cooling and 2/. access to the switch.

Cheers

josephk,

I never had a problem with the switch position and the orginal canopy on the Caliber 60. It worked nicely.

Frode,

When you have your canopy mounted, how do you reach the on/off switch ? Do you have your ON/OFF switch installed on the original location (i.e. on the front frame CA6064)

I cant seem to reach the switch at all when the canopy mounted.

Do you have a picture of yours to show me ?

Thanks

Joe

josephk,

Sorry, but the Caliber has been sold, so I cant take any pictures. I reached the switch from the bottom of the canopy. It was mounted on the front frame.

Joe,

All you need to do is open up a hole big enough for you to get your finger in to turn the switch on and off. I have always used the standard switch position although I had the same thought that you are having when I first got the Caliber years ago.

If you use the standard canopy, go ahead and open the "natural" air intake just in front of the pipe on the left hand side, and the similar place on the right hand side. This allows you to put a finger through the hole, and reach the switch. If you study the Swift canopy, these areas are already opened from the factory. So instead of applying the "air intake - look-a-like" decal, do open the areas which definately gives better cooling inside the canopy.:-)
