About a week ago I purchased a Head Bolt to replace the plastic Blade head, what a difference a very smooth response with absolutly no sticking. Combine this Head by www.Flighttech.com and a Brushless main motor and it really makes the Blade a very nice machine. I'm happy with it you guys might want to check it out.

Sorry, but I don't understand your post. The link you give takes you to a website that sells intercomms.

What does this have to do with the Blade?

Which bolt are your referring to?

wow, that's exactly what I've been wanting. It looks like an exact replacement for the stock center hub and rotor head where all the slop comes from. Boy that is expensive though.

Nice find...

For 1$ more you have the entire bell-hiller head with blade grips... not just the center.

I don't want the entire head though. All I've wanted were those few parts. I'd bet it is much lighter than the one Heli-hobby sells. The center hub and rotor head is where all of the slop comes from for the blade.

I do think it's rather pricy for what you get considering you can get the entire head for $1 more. If it was down closer to $50-$75 I'd be buying one right now to try on my heli.

I wonder why it's so expensive... Look at all their aluminum T-Rex upgrades and how cheap they are. Those have to be just as complicated to build as the e-flite one. I also don't buy from any company that does not post their company information and contact information like phone number on their webpage. I also don't see a privacy agreement for all the info they gather on you.

I agree for $110 you can get the whole kit w/ swashplate, grips, center hub and all ! You do need to consider that replacements for the whole assembly might cost ya a bit more in the long run & weight might also be a factor. That said, I think if I were going to spend that amount of money (which I'm not)on my BCP I would go with the whole assembly.

Maybe like the full CNC head HeliDirect and RC-Expert will start selling it as well at 3/4 of the price of what Heli-Hobby is selling it for.

HeliHobby has the full CNC head for $145.99
RC-Expert and Heli-Direct have it for $110

By that reasoning if those 2 start stocking it as well maybe it will be around $50 from them... Here's hoping. I'll definitally buy it then. I'm just hesitant to buy from HeliHobby.

Does anyone know who is the manufacturer of the CNC head that is being sold? They look to be the same at all of the sites.

I just thought I would chime in since I have had the full CNC head from helihobby/rc-expert etc. for a month now. The quality of the parts is great, but the blade main shaft is somewhat smaller than the hole in the head assembly. Getting the shaft centered is a tedious process that has to reoccur if you crash hard(which I have done). A couple of the bearings in the blade grips were pretty rough, and the copper feather shaft bends when you look at it. After bending that shaft I noticed that the hole that was tapped in the ends of the feathering shaft were off center a good bit. If you buy one of these, keep the original feathering shaft from the plastic head and put it in the cnc head. Not a big deal, but a $110 part should be better. Also the grub screws are trash. The stock eflight screws are much better and don't strip out the heads like the ones that came with the cnc head.

If I had it to do again, I would spend the money and get something that was made specifically for the blade main shaft. The flight tech head is probably better, but is going to run you a lot more if you finish it out with metal parts, and next thing you know you could have had a TREX SE which comes blinged. I already had the blade so I bought the cnc head, but would not do it again. It just isn't worth the money for easily bent parts that were machined by an idiot.

Out of all the parts on the blade these are the only 2 I think really need to be aluminum. If these 2 parts are solid then the head will most likely be rock solid. I'm definitally hoping helidirect or rc-expert decide to carry these cause it will probably be cheaper than helihobby. If they do I'll be picking up a set. I'm just not comfortable ordering from helihobby.

I've battled with the yoyoing of this helicopter since day one and every time I get the head fixed it works great for a month then the rotor head has to be replaced. I've replaced it 3 times now and the center up twice. Once they get sloppy it's over and the heli starts it's 1 inch yoyo jumping. If this solves than then I'll be happy as a clam.

I just purchased the head block made by flighttech and I was very dissapointed!! It DOES NOT WORK with the Bell Hiller upgrade!! Can you believe that?!
It is too wide at the base for the mixer arms to rotate freely. That makes no sense at all! But otherwise it is a very precise unit. I was looking foreward to intstalling this on my blade, since this is where all of the slop comes from.
I should have just put that $$ in the TREX fund! I hope flighttech will realize this and make one that will work with the Bell Hiller grips- would probably still buy it.

This is one of the problems with the aftermarket stuff not
fitting properly! But to design a non BH aluminum head
what's the point? This is an area that hopfully Horizon will
visit as part of the Hop-Up line of CP parts!

Flighttechusa Head Upgrade

Hey guys, I'm the flight tech guy Andy. I make these parts and would like to address some of your thoughts and concerns. First off, the head unit was designed before the Bell Hiller came out and that is why it doesn't work on the BH mixing grips. However, I do plan to make Bell Hiller mixing grips that will work with my upgrade. The main reason why I made this upgrade unit was to eliminate the sticky head unit problem. In the process of doing that I also give you more travel on the flybar arms which increases more manueverability, more pitch travel, which allows your servos not to stall in a full stick stick position and a low stick position. The pin that holds the head unit is a perfect fit so that the main gear will turn along with the head so that there is no slop like you have in the stock head unit. With this head unit, you will be able to get smooth flight transition, a ton of response, no slop and for those who have bought this part and still have questions and concerns please email me info@flighttechusa.com and I will call you to service you completely.
Now understand this, I have personally tested the Bell Hiller mixing head that is for 145 or 110. The bearings were secured with improper screws, the seesaw has excessive slop and play. It made it impossible for me to track my blades. The bearings that hold the mixing arms are using a bushing for the inside then the bearing that causes even more slop. For those who have this head unit, I would recommend putting a 2mm ID / 5mm bearing so that you get rid of the bushing and that will take out a lot of slop.
Check out our new price on our website. All our parts are made here in the USA for Quality control. There are plans in the works to do a write up on this part soon. Also our phone number on our website will be added. We were in transition to another state and unfortunately it was overlooked.
