Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of your tailrotor pushrod setup? I have the metal crutch and I suspect my T/R pushrod doesn't slide as smoothly as it could because I'm getting a lot of tail wag. I've read some old posts about switching to the servo arm hole closest to center as well. Any tips are greatly appreciated !!

Copterklutz,

Use hollow CF tube (about 5/16" or 3.5 mm) in place of stock wire pushrod. No need for pushrod guides with CF. I've also put a metal washer on the spider eyelet (gives more area against spider than eyelet collar alone) and made sure spider collar and eyelet sit snug against spider. However, too tight and you will have friction and spider will melt. I've also put two Teflon washer in between the TR hub and TR blades. Ha! I just noticed that I've been running with pushrod in outer hole of bellcrank. I haven't noticed any difference. Best mod that I've tried is cutting the square tip of the TR blades and making a beveled radius on leading edge to cut into air better.

-Bob-

PS: How's the servo? Does it jitter?

Computerbob,

the T/R servo is on my list of suspected issues. I've replaced the gears a couple times due to some newbie bumps and slams, and it seems to hunt neutral when releasing the left stick control.
I've set the AVCS and gain on the GYRO (GY240) again, and if it still wags, I'm probably going to upgrade from the HS81 T/R servo.

Thanks for the replies !!

I have my tail servo all the way back.
with a boom mount. the T-rex servo holder is only 1mm larger 12 vs 11mm. With small tape around my boom the t-rex boommount fits on the corona. So a have no glider supports on the pushrod.
And no, my corona is not tail havy
using 7x3300 and a FS501BB as tailservo
