Graupner Koala-Bell 230-Elektro Skaler > Limited UK dealers for Graupner

I have been wanting to get into a scale bolkow, but despite my local dealer initially saying he could facilitate and support based on a promise he got at the Nuremburg toy festival from Graupner people, they have since said he cant do this direct and must go through some guy up north of the UK who has a dreadful reputation. If anyone from Graupner reads this, know that I am a potential customer and unless you sort this out I wont be buying an aircraft which will be that much hassle to support!
I cant understand why Graupner in the UK cant link their lack of sales to their lack of choice given to potential customers about who they can deal with. Despite my long time desire to acquire a bo105, I will refrain from doing so unless what I consioder is appropriate choice and support is in place. Gripe over, but I welcome replies.

Who are you on about up north ?
I thought Motors and Rotors were one of the UK's Graupner importers ?

Depending on where in Wales you are Martin Briggs may be a good bet. He's a big Graupner fan and has never been out of stock of anything that I've needed. Catch him on 01531 635298 or www.rotorsport.co.uk
His shop is in Ledbury Herefordshire.

So far I have had a quote from Martin Briggs circa £1300 to put a bolkow in the air, I have my own radio. This seems a steep price to me, and I cant find a contact for motors and rotors,

Hi
Both Martin Briggs from rotorsport and Dave Wiltshire from Motors and Rotors are very good . Both deal with Graupner BO105's and I have delt with both and they have given me 100% service each time.

You learn something new everyday.

Well they both seem to want in the region of £1200 for to get the bo105 in the air, (I already have the transmitter). That to me seems a way too high price and it seems the dealers are few and far between. I know dealers who'd get the same equipment for me for around £700 if they could get graupner to deal with them. My point is that the fewer dealers there are, the more it seems to work against customers interests. Both these guys are suppliers and both have their own shops, can you see where I am coming from?

Hi There

I think you'll find that the fuse + mechanics is around £485, plus about another £100 if you want to go for the pre-made fibre glass fins and the scale cockpit kit.

I dont think that's at all bad when you compare that to other manufacturers, also with Graupner, you get a one piece fuselage (no joining tail to fuselage) and all of the window openings and u/c holes are pre-machined saving a load of time and mess when building.
When and if you do get a kit, open the boxes and look at what you've got for your money, it seems good value to me !

bolkow bo105

I think it is being sorted now as the price I am now being quoted is one heck of a lot closer to what you just posted. I did'nt realize it was a one piece fuse, that is great. I will definitely be getting it with the available upgrades to build in an offshore configuration. It will be modelled on helicoopter EI-LIT which Irish helicopters use to service the offshore lighthouses with. I e-mailed that company to tell them what I was doing and ask info about precise shades on the paint they use and they invited me to call in saying they will give me the paint to use! They seem interested too!

What is include in the £1200 deal if it includes servos gyro and all other things needed to get it in the air then this is a good deal.
