I bught 2 tailcase (part ksj1340) aluminium thinking I was making my helico better, but it did not do as I planed. I broke a part in flight and after a crash, this same part cruches and is not repairable. So don't do as I did.... I think that I will put the raptor tail and then leave it on the shelf and change for another helico..... It's starting to cost lots of $$$$$!

Hello Gagnon,
I saw here that some Voyager owner are very satisfied with this aluminium part but I bought like you 2 tail case from K&S (ksj1340) and I broke the 2 in fly
This part is really too thin and I think it is not a good idea from K&S continuing to sell it:

Len Sabatto from RC Helis Plus Inc (KSJ reseller in USA) exchanged me one broken part after I sent it back to him and after... 2 months, 4 phone call and 10 emails, but I have no reason to put it again on my voyager. It expensive to repair when you loose controle of the tail
I imagine your part broke exactly where mine did...
A raptor box seems to be the better choice but that means also that the stock Voyager is really poor: motor, tail (all the parts of it), blades, ESC etc...

Not a crash.... only small vibration broke it
The crash came one time after and I broke only 1 blade (I was too closed the ground). The other time, I saved my heli with the auto-rotation

I'm not surprised; tail vibrations can be very distructive.

Try moving/sliding the tail control rod clamps to different locations on the boom.
I replaced everything in the Voyager tail and could not eliminate the vibes - turned out to be the wrong clamp locations on the boom.

tail vibs
The stock Voyager does not like high head speeds;(I have two; both had tail vibrations) I was running headspeeds of aprox 1700; lowered head to 1500, no more tail vibrations. of course balance your blades, tail and rotor.

Raptor t/r box

What details do you have to share with fitting the Raptor t/r box on a V-E?

I had the same problem! The KSJ1340 tail case cracked in flight I also sent it back to Len Sabato Owner of RCHeli Plus Inc (KSJ distributor in the USA) for replacement. I did replace the defective part on my Voyager-E. However, after reading this thread, I will now replace the entire tail mechanism with the Raptor tail mechanism.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post:
I tried the KSJ CNC tail case about 2 years ago and mine also cracked on the first flight. I reported the failure to the supplier and was able to return it for a refund.
In contrast, the original stock tail case has not failed yet; even after a few bad crashes.

I have the opposite experience - many, many flights on this bling part.

I suspect there is another problem responsible for these failures?
