Well, to be honest, I don't know where a good place to meet would be. GAMA sounds good but I'm not sure they would welcome a meeting?

I will only be spending the night in Brady. For the meeting I will be 15 miles NE of Brady. See you there. I think there is a road side park there and a plaque on the ground or something like that. Or maybe its one of the those Histerical Markers.

I say we take over the HOTMAC field. Bunch of old geezers that fly left patterns with planks there. We could take um!

Hey man, you gonna eat that?

Are we only limited to having the meeting at one of the local flying fields? We may want to consider maybe having it at a restaurant of some sort so that everyone can sit and discuss the necessary details.

A few of us are talking about starting a AMA heli only club!!

God luck guys I wish we could do something like that near here I'm in east Texas near Longview. Nearly no helis here at all. There is a larger group in Mt Pleasant but that is a bit far for me.

Well, Austin is the capital of Texas.
I would think the first meeting should be at ARCA.

The liberty hill field would be great for us, I first suggested there, but there are others that would have to travel a good ways to even find it.
And everybody knows where ARCA is because of the austin FF. Loyd and the gang wont mind a bunch of heli's on a saturday!!..if ya'll want, I'll call and ask permission.

Vince' has a good idea........meet at a restaurant first and talk about details.......then head out to the field for some flying. Kinda like a mini Fun-Fly. There's a few places to eat near ARCA.

thats what I suggest.
Now this is if we get enough people to come out.....if its just gonna be the same 4-5 guys that fly together every weekend..then Liberty hill sounds better. Greg already backed out...lets hope we can get a good turn out to meet up.
whatca think?

Its thursday morning..lets start getting a head count

If we meet @ ARCA then we could meet at McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Bill Millers talk about starting the club then head to the field to fly afterwards. If we decide to meet at Liberty Hill then Joe can maybe suggest a restaurant to meet at then meet at the field out there to fly afterwards. If we are going to do it this Saturday, we need to start narrowing down a place to meet as well as a time.

DATE AND TIME......WITH DIRECTIONS.....

OK guys..... we are going to meet out at the Liberty Hill soccer feild.

Date will be this Saturday the 4th at about 10:30ish to 11:00ish.....this could be later if possible??? I don't know what would be best for you guys. I have to work until 12:30 and then I will be there ASAP. Whatever works for you guys

Directions to the feild will be at the bottom of this post. Bring your helis along with you ....just in case you want to fly. I know I will.

If you want to eat breakfast, I highly suggest a place called Hobo Depot. This is and excellent place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. This place is just off Hwy 29 by about .4 tenths of a mile on 1869 SOUTH at the corner of 1869 and the railroad tracks on the right.....hence the name....Hobo DEPOT.

If any of you have any questions about the directions, please call me on my cell 512-748-1289. I will always be available.

DIRECTIONS TO THE FEILD

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you are coming from Cedar Park/Leander, you will need to take Hwy 183 NORTH until you get to Seward Junction. This is the intersection of Hwy 183 and Hwy 29. TAKE A LEFT ONTO HWY 29 and travel WEST for about 2.5 miles. You will need to take a RIGHT at the third light. This road is CR200. (There is a railroad crossing just before this intersection) When you turn on CR200 go about 400 yards and take the very first left AFTER the railroad tracks. (It's a little gravel road....be looking for it) You are at the feild. Go to the far back of the lot to the right. That is where we fly.
If you are coming from Georgetown, you need to go WEST on Hwy 29 (Exit #261 from IH35) for about 13 miles or until you get to Seward Junction. This is the intersection of Hwy 183 and Hwy 29. KEEP GOING STRAIT ON HWY 29 THRU THE INTERSECTION and keep going WEST for about 2.5 miles. You will need to take a RIGHT at the third light. This road is CR200. (There is a railroad crossing just before this intersection) When you turn on CR200 go about 400 yards and take the very first left AFTER the railroad tracks. (It's a little gravel road....be looking for it) You are at the feild. Go to the far back of the lot to the right. That is where we fly.
Again, if you need any clarification...call me.
Joe
