Jared,

Glad to hear you figured out the issue. Sucks that it was a mechanical problem, But at least it wasnt in you radio system.

Phil,
Good to hear you where able to get it back safely, I hear those little heli's can get away from you pretty quick in the wind.

We had some good flying out at Liberty Hill, there was only three of us, but we had fun flying and BS'ing the morning away. We also took some video of me and Kokamo doing some flying, I got the X-Spec all tuned back to PowerMaster, and joe was flying great and hitting some serious Auto's!.
Hopefully Joe get's the Video's up soon.

Unfortunately , the last flight of the Day was Joe's first crash....I caught it on Video.

Was'nt that bad...the Evo will live to fly another day.
Good flying Joe!, it happends to all of us!

later.

Yep, it happened! I finally got to break in the Evo today....and I mean "break" her in! It was totally dumb thumbs all the way to the ground, which wasent very far. I had a brain fart and wasent thinking. I was doing some inverted hovering and I simply pushed the collective stick the wrong way.

Oh well, it's not all that bad. I can take it!

Looks to be the normal crash parts, but it did break the right side of the frame. V-Blades ROCK! The tails hit the ground pretty damn hard and they survived! Havent looked real close, but I think they will fly again.

Javier, thanks for catching that on video. How they hell would we have known there was going to be a crash?

Other than the crash, I was having a heck of a time. Even after the crash I was having a blast! I guess it hasent sunk in yet, but now I know I have seen the darkside of this hobby. Now that I have been thru the dreadded crash, this made me think about what happened, what I did wrong, and take that and learn from it. We will see if this sunk in the next time I go flying.

I am talking with Averen, and seeing if I can use his server for the video. Should be about 40 megs, sorry dial-up guys!

And thats the right attitude!, We all learn the hard way. But thats life..

Glad the V-Blades held up on the tail, check them out good, if you need a set..let me know, I have a spare set if you need them. Also let me know if you need any help with the Hirobo parts getting it back flying.

Yeah that was strange!!..and we were just talking about that yesterday..
You never know when or where it will happen, just that one day it "will" happen.
.....I had some close calls today myself.

Will do man. I know for sure I will need some individual parts for this thing. Oh, I need to get that right side frame half from you......since you don't have a use, AND it just so happened to be the only side that was damaged!

Didn't you say somthing about bad carma? How funny!

HA!!! Oh man, let's hope it dosent come to that! I learnt my lesson this time around......inverted + positive pitch (relatively close to the ground)= Not good!

Almost got the vids ready guys! I have some pix of the carnage. Sorry about the crappy pictures, I wasent all that happy to be taking them.

Happens to the best of us

Kokomo,
Sorry to hear about your mishap man. We just had this conversation just a few days ago. Dangint!!! You have gotten it out of your system. Now we can reflect on it, figure out what we did wrong and move forward. Just think, I was cursed with two mechanically induced crashes which set me back for a brief moment, but I have overcome the fear. We need to get the EVO back in the air as soon as possible. Let me know if you need anything man.

Laters,

That sucks......because the side I have is the left side

Give me a list when you get it all torn down, and I'll see what I have.

HA! Damnit, I could have sworn you said that was the right side frame half.....but maybe I better go and recheck to see if it is in fact the left side.

Averen and myself are having technical difficulties getting the vids up. I may have to make a trip and meet him and personally give him the flies to upload. Sorry guys! We might be able to get them up tomorrow.....hopefully!

Now that you have the first one out of the way you can expect many more If you're not crashing you're either not flying, or not pushing youself hard enough! Just all part of the game...these things aren't supposed to be able to fly anyways!

Joe
was that your first inverted hover that low?

Try not to get pushed into manuvers that low for the camera anymore.. regardless of who is behind the camera!

Damn I didn't like seeing it happen but you will get better from this point on!

BTW:
the nose down funnel looking good!

I wasent doing anything for the camera. I was trying new things and I just goofed up. Plain and simple. Nobody pushed me into anything

What the hell is that supposed to mean? It wouldent matter if there was someone there recording or not. I would have done the same thing with Javier or my wife.

Yeah, those were my fist funnels. Not too purdy but you kinda get the idea.

Please don't take it that way I was ONLY trying to say people tend to get pushed into something they are not to comfortable with like the old adage Lower Lower Lower bit or that can be self imposed when the Camera is rolling and you know the camera is rolling REGARDLESS who is behind it like Me, Kenny, Mike W. ,or Jared and or your Wife.. Damn Dude don’t be so “Edge~Eeeee”

Don’t Worry I was NOT talking about the guy that filmed you! I was instructed to NEVER talk about him or too him ever again!!!! By him!!! SO while were on the subject! Maybe he needs to find or make a different thread to post on so he will not be offended when were trying to talk to each other here on Rctaz’s thread whom was TOLD to do the same as I & a few others in the Central Texas Area..???
Go Figure!!!
