Here's a few pictures from the NW Austin rc helicopter field today. There were about 8 heli pilots with only one crash due to a freak radio malfunction.

Javier's video 8.7mb (I'll have a better camera next week)

phil007 ,

Thanks for the little vid phil, Trying to re-tune back to PowerMaster after a try at CY Wildcat. it seemed to be flying Ok.

Wish you could make it out to Liberty Hill tomorrow, it sounds like we're gonna have a good turn-out.

Did ya'll ever find out what caused Jared's crash?..that was strange indeed.

This is exactly how malicious rumors get started, so easy there cowboy. And No I did not rip the landing gear off. But I know who did.

Today was a great day of flying. More especially the inverted tail down funnel I was doing. The inverted backwards flying was pretty cool to.

You should try it sometime.

I wish I could make it out too. I'm lucky my wife likes to sleep in late giving me a free fly pass until about 11am when I return home with breakfast. Satuday's I have the whole day for flying.

Nope. It was a very strange accident. Another guy, Jess lost a piece off the head of his Logo 10 and managed to land it without crashing.

phil007,

I hear ya!. I usually only fly one day out of the weekend too, there has to be that happy medium between family and hobby!..at least for me anyway..

That was very strange about jared's Rex, I have never seen a PCM system act in such a way.
Glad to hear the Logo 10 got down in one piece.

I think I got a bit much sun yesterday(ouch),lol I' just couldnt work myself up to get back out in it today. Did get dampers and paddles changed on my .30's to try to get rid of some boggies in manuvers(guess thats what happens when you need full deflection to have any roll rate at all)...so I should be ready for next week...Phil , we all know your making blade sounds while you hover over those spots (:

Good times for Phil! I did that a couple of weeks ago to my place...at least I had all my stuff moved out!

I was out at Target from about 11:30ish to 2:45. I repaired the T-Rex from yesterday's incident. Looks like the antirotation pin backed out of the swash and the swash twisted the links which pulled it down and caused the FULL negative plumit. Everything is happy now and she flys better than ever!

I put 2 packs through the T-Rex and a tank through the Rappy. The rest of the time was spent helping Terry get his T-Rex all settled out. He had some tight links and the upper washout arms (or whatever they're called) were really tight...making for a lot of "creeping" trim...

So that's all worked out and it's flying much better! Hope everyone had a good weekend of flying!

Jared,

I was at the Target field for an hour this morning and left about 10. Almost lost the Trex when the wind picked up. It was getting high and far away half way to the Walmart parking lot. I managed to point it nose in and down to get it zipping back across the field. After a few unplanned piros I landed it safely in the grass. You and Todd would have enjoyed watching that one.

Good job on finding the source of that malfunction.
