Has anyone crashed their QJ8 yet? If so, what was the damage? Which parts are needed most after a QJ8 crash? Did any of the parts in the main rotor head assembly bend? I've read that this heli is pretty tough.

I have had one crash and had to replace the main shaft and spindle. Depending on the severity of the crash, you can count on those two parts needing replacement and of course, the blades.

A bent main shaft will be obvious. The spindle may not so, after every crash, it is prudent to remove the spindle and roll over a hard surface such as a piece of glass. This will show any defect if it exists.

Ive crashed mine twice. Once during setup, and the other when I had an RX power failure hovering about 2 feet off the ground.

Ive had to replace the main shaft, and the spindle on both accounts, the servo arms have broken as well. Im using the long Futaba arms which are kind of flimsy. The Right skid bent both times. These parts are cheap. The blades are a killer. If you are a novice it might be wise to just stick with the new wood blades for a while.

For those with T-Rex's as well, would you go so far as to say that they Quick CNC holds up as well as the align blue stuff in a crash?
I have never broken an Align upgrade part and I have crashed heaps!

Tip of the Day: ADDICTION? "Buy Align case, lock it up, hand over key."

The metal is BETTER than the align metal stuff for sure.

yeah none of the aluminum stuff has been damaged that I can see. Im starting to build a stock pile of main shafts and spindles. Probably a good idea to have a spare of the tail shaft as well.
