Can two 3S 2100mah packs connected in series be charged together? I have an Astro 109 charger. If so, what would I set it to? 5 amps?

Charging

If the charger can go to 6 lipo cells (22,2V) than you can put them in serie. I would set it on half the battery current (1050 mAh) If the packs are not drawn to there max, the lower charging current increases there life.

If the charger can't go to 6 cells (like mine) then put the cells paralelle (11,1V) and 2,1 A charging current.

Both will take the packs to charge in 2 hours.

Make sure you balance the packs seperately first so the voltages are within a few 10th's of a volt of each other before you charge/discharge them, then keep an eye on them every few cycles to make sure they are doing well.

These little guys don't have balancing ports. They are maxamps 3S1P 2100mah packs. It sounds like for the good health of the packs, that they be charged seperately. If it will prolong the life of the packs, I am willing to wait for each pack to charge. They are already showing signs of weakening.

Perhaps a couple of 4S packs are in my future. These 3S packs fly great. But for sport flying only. I wouldn't try any inverted shenanigins at my current 3S headspeed.

Any recommended 4S pack brands?

Well, the TP2100-4s is the most popular.
If you're looking for cheaper options, can consider the Etecs 1700 4s or FullRiver.

i have 2 chargers...one for each pack...2100ma 3s and use 2a....funny they still stop charging within 5 minuits...cool!!!

TP for all my packs....but just got a different one powerflight evo20, anyone heard aboiut these packs...(20C)...

Yup, Flight Power seems pretty good as well.

It claims a higher discharge and allows you to use just a single pack without having to parallel the pack for the output amps.

Only down part i see is the weight and short flight times if used at high discharges.

couldnt find TP pack so i got one...now i need another so i can re-arange some packs (ill use 2 in parrallell on my qj-8) and the TP on a scale T-Rex im doing...
