| No, the current V3 can't not be converted to CP using Century parts. It can be done with other aftermarket parts, but I don't think it worth the money and trouble.
Will they arrive on time? I would put a big "?" on this one. When the last 2 birds (3D Pro and Swift) came out they were both delayed for a terrible long time and lost a lot of customer in the process. Both birds had a little problems too when they first came out. Good thing is Century has been supporting their customers well and got those problems taken care of.
My recommendation is buy a V3 RTF. Why? V3 is a proven bird. Very well received by many and it's the best beginner RC heli (model grade, not the toys) I can think of. Also if you buy it direct from Century they are now shipped with a new 6CH CP capable radio (I don't really like it, but it's good for the money and will do for beginners). If one day you want to move to a CP bird you can just transfer the electronics over to the new bird (you may need a 5-6Ch. Rx thou). Also Century sells their CP bird airframes at a very reasonable price. The Elite CP can be had for $85. So when you are ready just buy the V4 CP ARF kit (rumor says there will be one) and it should be priced even lower than the Elite CP. |
