Finally got my motor. Had to wait for 7 weeks. My modelhobby shop told i'm crazy to put it in a QJ8. It can deliver 850W continuesly and some 1350W peak!!!

He told me to take care of the throttle, or it would eat the teeth of the main gear.

I thought of getting one for my 8 but I just couldn't part with the $$$!

I had one in my TRex and it was AWESOME! I may get one at a later date but I must first learn to fly it! lol

Scary

I just mounted it in the QJ8 with a 10 teeth pinion.
At 28% on governer mode it has some estimate 2000 rpm on the head.
At 30% some 100 extra.

The motor is boared and not getting hotter than some 43 degrees Celcius!!

I let Anni try it? If he want?

I think it will even spool up with the blades at 90 degrees pitch!?!?!?

That's inSANE! lmao I hope you don't send it into orbit. That would be a terrible loss. Lehner's have crazy amounts of torque so you'll never have any lack of power.

I did not fly it for long, tweaking ang so on. The motor is way to much power for the heli. It's drawing 18,5 A at full pitch on 2300 RPM. The motor is disigned to draw 55A continu. So it's on some 40% of it's performance. The rotor of the motor is lamelled and therefore it has still some 88% efficiancy on the 8A in a hoover. This is the main difference with cheaper motors, where you loose efficiancy on lower amps. The motor isn't getting hot at all.

I had it hoover for some 5min and it took only 400mAh out of the 6S1P battery!

you are going to go the A3012XL route arent you? I want to buy the hacker motor with a CC45HV. But I only want to run 6s. I noticed Gary was running 8s. I cant afford the batteries. Will it be fine on 6s?

Yes i think i am going that route. I need a CC 45-HV for it to work properly on that many cells so it will depend on how quickly i can source one of those because they are VERY scarce right now.

What does this name mean?
Last night I spouled it up Bob holding it above his head.
At full pitch, we didn't notice any drop in RPM on the head.

You have to try before buying another motor. Yo can go to 36V or even more with this thing. You will not need to, With two 3S1P packs in series capable of 30A you will have 600W output. If you want more? Go for 15C 2500mAh and 50A you will have 50*22,2*0,91= 1kW output!!! this is enough to swing 500mm blades!! You still have 5A continues margin!!

Hey MRS,

Gary Goodrum got 768 watts from a hacker A30-12XL on 8 cells. Im going to go 9 Cells on the same motor and should get a bit more than that. I have 14 2100mah lipo packs that need to be used. Its cheaper to replace motors than that many lipo packs. right ?

I cant wait to try your motor and see that thing fly but its not the right solution for me at the moment i think.

BTW, On a side note Quick Japan is busy right now making me 325mm flybars that i will hopefully have in a few weeks or less. This will be a nice improvement for the cyclic response.

Oh yeah, this will help. Sent one in for me to. Another thing, take a good look at the bell mixer. Turn them arround and you will have a ratio bigger than one instead of less than one!

Higher voltage means smaller pinion and more torque. More peak amps is the other way. Same pinion and motor, more torque. And for bigger blades, this is what youre looking for: torque

6S2P is also a way to do it. You can use the packs and get 40-45 amps out of it. 22,2*40*0.91= 808W output at the shaft. This should do it also, and you can still use youre jazz 40-6-18!!
