I actually got my heli to hover controllably. And then it crashed and the main rotor blade hit some concrete and shattered I think im tramatised for life.

Then I glued the blade back together

yah well, you seem to have been hovering it a little better, mine was only like 6 inches off the ground for like 20 seconds

Did you just say that you glued the blades back togethor? That is the most dangerous thing I have ever heard of, other then hovering two inches from your face with V blades on!
Never glue your blades back togethor. Buy a new set, think of your safety first. I have seen people a person do that and when he hit Idle up they broke apart and hit him. Ouch.

Hey gyroman. I think he is just goofing when he says "I glued the blades back together" if you notice all the little after that quote. After all, anyone knows you should never glue blades back together. Always use tape instead!

Scotch tape does wonders.

But seriously, anytime a blade is involved in a crash, I replace both blades just to be safe. There can be structural damage not visible under normal inspection.

Play it safe with these 'human blenders'.

No I seriously did glue them back together, I havent tried to fly yet like that... but since its really that bad to glue them, I guess I will just go buy some new blades, there only like $10

That's not a crash!

If it doesn't look like this, you can't call it a crash!

That's my mate's heli after it hit the ground inverted. He was practising inverted nose-in hover 30-50 feet high... when for some reason he felt like pulling back on the cyclic. It came down inverted nose first; hit the ground 50 feet in front of us.

That pic "almost" looks as bad as my Hawk SE after my most recent "dumb thumb". Lets just say nose first from a pretty good altitude. And she is in a box in about 4 major chunks. Engine, servos, as well as everything on the heli is severly damaged. Best I can tell it is a total loss. So I definatly know the rigors of a "dumb thumb" for SURE.

And I will also say (since he DID glue his blades) that is a NO NO! This will definatly end in disaster if these were used again. If not only another crash. Someone could get hurt badly.

Mid air explosion!

I have seen Raptor 60 "exploding" in the mid air half way through a death spiral. Blades and tail came down like confetti. It couldn’t have been a boom strike as forward cyclic was applied. Some people at the field said that one of the boom support came loose and started it all… but I didn’t see anything. It just “exploded”!!!

My guess is that the blades may have tuned somehow and started flapping.

It was back in the air next week... a new R60 kit probably!!!

I've seen that heli before!!! It was when I opened up a Raptor Kit...
Seriously get some new blades, no glue no 20o mph Duct tape either and get back into the air... Try for 5 second flights and then work at increaseing the time as you get better. Just pick it up a few inches, try to hold a hover then set it back down.

My first crash

You people over there in U.S. land have it cheap.
$10.00 for a set of blades!!! ( woodies I assume ). I have done about 4 sets of blades in 2 years & they cost about $40.00 Aus. each time.
I've never found enough of the bits to glue, duct tape or spit together to make em. fly again & I wouldn't want to either.
Watching ( & sometimes contributing ) to these forums I have seen some true anecdotes like " altitude is your friend " or " It's not if it crashes, it's when ", & yes! there all true.

Keep up the practice & get a crash kit organised; it is worth it in the end.
Learning it is not the fun part....Noel

Thats a Lite Machines if I am not mistaken. Which "could" explain the $10.00 blades. Which in that case they are plastic. Or am I missing something?
