Francisco, all the best to you.

The real lesson here is that the transition from Mode 1 to 2 involves re-learning to fly the heli. Otherwise you become a danger to everyone, including yourself.

I switched from idle 1 to idle 2 The heli came toward me and I gave it more pitch. then I lost orientation and the helicopter came directly over head of me. I tried everything but I was overcorrecting and the heli ended up upside down. The heli struck the ground and the blades broke into pieces. One of the pieces evidently hit me in the left eye, causing it to bleed profusely. A few companions came to my aid and took me to the emergency room, looked after me for more than one hour,( I lost track of the time). I can't open the eye and only can see a little light. The Doctors say the blow might be the cause of the lost vision as the damage is not all that severe. They say the I should get better in a short time. This is a hobby that stops being enjoyable when this happens I don't know if I will just trash it or what. I had a lot of respect for the machine before bu now I think I might be afraid not of flying it but of the damage than can occur.

Well I hope that everyone gets some use out of this post

Nice post. I wish I could do as well in another language

Ok i thought the blade hit him before it hit the ground. I guess it probably would have been worse but at least he wasnt flying a 90

As I said previously, I continue without seeing in the left eye.

Saludos.

I am so sorry to hear about your accident. I am glad that you are still trying to fly. That is GREAT!
I just bought my first heli, Raptor 50. I will definitely be careful and not do any tricks and moves that I can't control. I am anxious to fly 3d but will keep training on my sim before even trying it in the field. And if I do it in real life, I'll do it as far as possible.

Hope all is well... Take care Franciso.

I hope you are able to still fly ok.
It is going to be hard to fly with only one good eye. I would think that depth perception would be a big problem.
