I`m hoping ( weather permitting ) to do some headspeed readings tomorrow. I am a newbie, just begining to learn hovering, I am flying a Raptor 30 with an OS32. While trying to trim this thing out I had to trim my mid-stick pitch up and my throttle down to stop vibrations....What headspeed should I be running at hover??? If I get it setup for the proper speed and the vibration is still there that will tell me I need to investigat a little further..but I`m thinking that the headspeed is going to be fairly close..BTW...I`m at 0° at bottom stick..about 7° mid stick..and it looks like 13° full stick...my throttle curve is linear from 0 to 100...Thanks in advance..

is it a woble

Your pitch curve is on the high side.Your head speed may be too low too much pitch at hover.Mid pitch should be around +5 and high+ 9
Head speed should come in around 1550 to 1600 at hover and anywhere from 1800 to 2000 in idel up.I would go with 1800 2000 is a real screamer.

Welllll

Not sure if it was a wobble or a SHAKE...but with the training gear on..it shook pretty good...I fully knew the pitch numbers you mentioned, but wasn`t sure why I wasn`t getting them..after reading your post it made me realize I had to much throw from the servo..I moved in one hole closer to center with the ball..re-zeroed bottom stick..and center came in at 5° full stick was like 10°..I think this will get me close enough for trimming sake and if I can trim the throttle to achive around 1700-1800 rpm I think I`ll be getting close..was really hoping to find a local pilot to get me thru this...but hey...what better way to learn...Thanks

PS

after re-reading your post I will shoot for the 1550 - 1600 range..and BTW..the shake was all done with ground effects happening...plan on getting above waist high this time..and for all I know..the shake I experienced could be perfectlynormal.....

I would double check the blade balance and tracking . Also check that the paddles are equal distance from each other.

it could be the gear.

Check your blades for balance, One more thing to look closely at is your training gear.It is not uncommon to develope the shakes when using training gear that are too long. Also check your main blade grips they may be too loose. They should be tight but still be able to move with a bump from your finger.

Looks good

Well I tached it this morning, and as I was doing this alone I had to check just as it was trying to lift the training gear not actually in a hover. I read right around 1550 so I am assuming I`m REAL close at least close enough not to worry about it anymore. The vibration was not a problem today..just a litlle wiggle that was gone once it cleared the ground effects..someone had mentioned in another post about vibrations possibly coming from exhaust deflectors......well I actually paid attention to that silly thing, and let me tell ya..mine dances around like cheap stripper...I`m not concerned with it at this time..merely an observation...Thanks to all..my hands are STILL shaking
