End of Saturday

Well, just got home to So Cal. What a long boring drive! The event was great as usual. Alan Sr. an the Las Vegas Club gang ran things smoothly. I saw some of the best flying I have ever seen. That kid from the UK. is amazing. Someone told me they call him the UK Alan jr. I saw Eric Larson fly for the first time. DAMMMNNN!!! His skills were amazing. He did a an AILERON ROLLING circle. Yes, an AILERON ROLLING circle. There were a few times I saw the ants scatter on the runway when Eric came in LOW. We didn't get to see many electrics because of the wind.

One of my friends bought an MX 400 Pro. We all liked it a lot. It flew very stable. We weren't able to really get into the hardcore 3D though.

I was the ONLY one there with a Kyosho Caliber 5. UH OH, now everyone that was there knows who I am ;-) I really like the 5. The person who wrote in the Kyosho forum he switched back to Hirobo sold me his crashed ship, MINOR damage for a hell of a deal $100.00!! I was happy and thankful. Let's just say one the most well known heli pilots in the Vegas area flew a Caliber 5 the other day and RIPPED on it hardcore style. When he was done with he actually said he liked it! I don't know what's going to happen with parts support for my ship but for now I love it. I'm very surprised Kyosho didn't send some representation to one the biggest Fun Fly's on the West Coast. Maybe they will at the AZ Fun Fly.

Only complaint, COLD and WINDY today. I did win the Novice contest for the 2nd year in a row :-) Trust me, it means I can time and count well...LOL Oh, and have some luck.

I do have to say I have never seen so many ALIGN sponsored pilots. Andy represented in a big way. They all had really nice embroidered jackets, not to mention blinged T-Rex's.

I'm tired so off to bed! Thanks Vegas!

Aren't all rolling circles aileron circles? Rolling = aileron. I'm trying to visualize this.

I don't know all the correct terms, but on Video 9 of the series MR is shooting here Eric does a forward-flipping hurricane, a pirouetting loop, a slow backward rolling hurricane, an inverted pirouetting loop and a slow forward rolling hurricane. I think that last one is what DriverTim is refering to.

A rose by any other name... is still some damn fine flying.

I brought my R50 and I paid my fee, but for a 5-gallon rookie to fly at an event like this is like playing ukulele at an Aerosmith concert. Farting around with FF flight, stall turns and an occasional sloppy aileron roll means you will surely miss something abso-flippin-lutely astonishing elsewhere on the field.

I watched.

I'll do my rookie stuff next week.

Raptor 50 Vs. Ray Dogs Avant 90

The mid air between the Avant and a Raptor was AWESOME! Hard to tell who won as both were messed up. I'd say the Raptor wins as far as repair cost, but the Avant had more heart and stayed alive longer till it just buckled under the damage.

Ya I agree that Steve is a great pilot! I saw him tearing up the sky today (Sunday) and it was awesome. He whips it around like its on the end of a lasso. At the end of his first flight he even put it down on the head button, skid for about 3-4 feet and then did two good blade scrapes!! AWESOME JOB!!

Thanks
