I am not happy with a tracking issue I am having. The carbon blades seem nice and fly good even despite being out of track. I have ordered T-Rex blade grips and feathering spindle to eliminate the out of track issue. We will see if it works.

Mine is tracking great, but I am using the Trex spindle. Dont know if that is why I am tracking good or not. I just chose the Trex spindle because it is easier to get on and off.

I think I found the source of my out of track issue. The bolt that goes through the headblock and into the flybar carrier seesaw was loose and had backed out a bit causing the flybar carrier to pivot to one side when collective is increased. Only had a short test flight, will have to put it through its paces to see if this solves the problem.

Do I see the reminants of a prior boom strike? Hate it when that happens....

It fell out of the air and hit a gym floor. The only damage was that ding in the boom which happened while hitting the floor. It also took a little bit of the covering off the blade. I don't think this head will boom strike. It seems very stiff. I now have the T-Rex blades grips and feathering spindle for the simple reason that I can run the T-Rex blades with having to shim the blade grips.

mx400 and tail wag

greg,

I have a mx400 with some upgrades. added the eccpm carbon fiber frame. I am running a gy401 with a futaba 3110 on the tail rotor and 3107's for the eccpm. the problem, tail wag. I have address issues of radio interference but it acts more like it is hunting. It is stable until tail commands are inputted then it starts wagging. the only way to get it to stop is to land and start over. I am using a JR 8103 transmitter. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your gain is too high. What is the setting?

You should try using the hole closest to the screw on the tail servo with this heli. Mine will hunt if it is not there.

Greg and squirrlybird

have tried the gain setting from almost nothing to all the way up.

I guess the next step is taking a closer look at the servo/linkage/tail gear. Can not use the cloest hole on the futaba 3110 because the linkage hits the case. It is really a poor lay out for a small servo. going to try a 3107 and move down the arm.

greg, should have bought a Trex. Will post the results, especially if I can figure out the problem.
