Here a new frame, CNC made of 1 mm G 10, very stiff.
Now larger servos ( 20 x 8.5mm and HS 50 21x11mm ) possible.

Weight: 16 Gramm
all swashplate servos are on the same level.

Why are people modding the PZ to be larger, running larger blades and stretching the boom.

isn't the whole point to have a smaller helicopter?

-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-

HI,

the pocket zoom flies not so bad once it is nicely tuned, but htere are two things that need to be reworked:

- FLybar paddles and he flybar lenght

- Blades weight and CG.

The pocket zoom is a very small and light machine. The main rotor needs to turn very fast to be effective, and the stock foam blades are really bad. Wooden blades work a little better, but carbon adapted blades wold just be even better. I'm trying to make a few ones with different CG to try to reduce the slopy behaviour on the cyclic control and to keep a good pitch / cyclic authority anyway, i i find a god combination i'll post the blades datas here.

A very important other thing is to check often washout and all articulations , and the tail belt tension.

Now for the other stuffs, this little be flies quite nice for a chopper of that size and we are already thinking on popping of the stock rotorhead and fly multibladed for fun. This will be " unleashed Pzoom lol !!!)

BEst regards,

Fabien

Hi Fabien,
yes, the original blades are bad. I made some different blades, heavy and light, 6 Gramm blades are too heavy (flies extrem stable)i made these from old ARK 400 blades with cord of 25 mm, same blades made of balsa wood with 1 Gramm PB in the tip, these blades are perfekt (3 Gramm). The frame is not stiff enough and it is impossible to mount larger servos. Thats the reason to make a new frame, just for me to experiment, the same with the long version. I fly the PZ every day and i have change the main shaft and motor bearings. A new motor (5600 U/V, 22 gramm) is waiting for his job. I love micro helis !
kind regards

Just got mine today, looks great! Design your frames for more "standard" servos like GWS, Bluebird, something like that and you will sell lots... I'll take one! There have been issues with the Pino servos.

Can the original pocket zoom frame be modded to take normal servos like the hs65? I'd love to have one to fly inside the house or in my garage as it gets pretty windy here to fly the Trex but I have heard too many issues with the servos and no gear sets etc in the US. Also, can this thing use the gy401 gyro or am I stuck with a telebee gyro that barely holds the tail? If someone made a frame for this thing that can take normal servos and managed to sell the thing with that frame instead of the frame it comes with, they would sell a lot of them I bet. But having to buy a heli and buy a new frame before you begin is kinda expensive.

My Zoom with all stocks setup. The wooden blades and the CNC tail pitch slider is the must have upgrade.

Hi @ all,
it is not simple (impossible) to make a frame for all bigger servos. I had problems with the timing belt and now the frame is going into the bin.

The frame for long version is on the right way, but i am waiting for some parts (balls)

regards

I use Hype Servos, 20x8,5 mm, in the long version frame. But i have a new idea, with aluminium pylon, than all kind of servos are possible. Development needs time and at the moment i have not enough time. sorry

will that frame fit hs65 hitec servos and does it make the heli bigger? I want to fly the heli in my garage so want it as small as possible.
