Well Guys Sucess......I THINK....!

I flew my pride & joy (read...moneypit)today & things went well, I found that a little silicone lube on the main gear & a little less tension on the drive belt works wonders, the CH-47 flew well in the dusk light of the Dubai desert.

Looks great.

I hope to get mine to fly as nicely.

I'm still working with the significantly less expensive Century blades ($60 for a full set of 6 and the finish appears to be better than the hirobo set).

I'll keep you updated.

Hello,

I also applied some silicone lube on my main gear. The teeth started to wear a little on the first runs but now it seems to be ok. Maybe it's the solution.

Cheers,

Sam

I also have the hirobo Chinook kit.

It is really a great helicopter but quite expensive.

I purchased mine from MTA hobbies online. I called Rosie who is one of the owners of the hobby shop and she gave me a nice deal. She deals directly with Jeff Green from MRC. MRC is the importer to the US of this product.

Enjoy if you decide to buy it.

chinook Set up

looking for a little info here, I'm in the process of setting up my chinook. I at the point where all the electronics are in the unit. Has anyone found anything wrong in the directions such as swashplate movement ie: direction? Or if there is any other problem that anyone has found with the directions, can you please advise me what to look out for.
Thanks,
Jim

My ROLL & YAW GYROs were reversed and caused an almost disasterous test flight on my first attempt at hovering the CH-47

Jeff Green said that there were a few that had the same problems when I saw him at the AMA Convention in Ontario, CA

You have to check that the swashplates are moving in the correct direction when you rotate the Fusalage. The settings in the manual are correct, unless you recieved one of the backward gyro units like I did. I used the Factory settings, but I increased the sensativity and if it was +150% I had to adjust it to -150%. you'll just have to see if yours is correct.

Question for anyone that can answer it. I'm setting up a ch-47 and using digital servos, I get chatter thru all the servos that go thru the mixer. I'm running a 4.8 volt reciever battery. Anyone know if the mixer will support a 6-volt reciever battery, and is anyone useing one?
Thanks,
Jim

If you are running Futaba S9252 they say NOT to use 6.0 volts, only 4.8. The six 9252s on my model all make noise as I think most if not all digital servos do.

I'm running a 5.5v set by an arizona regulator with the 4000mah duralites. enough for 12 or 13 flghts a day. awesome. no probems. I'm also using futaba 9252 servos all round.

PLEASE READ MY PREVIOUS POST REGARDING THE SERVO THROWS, VV IMPORTANT.

rotor head linkage

I am at the point of setting up the rotor heads but the instructions are a little confusing I am trying to find the oreintation of the radius blocks. When they are correct and straight, are they both to the right of center or is the rear block to the left and the front block to the right? And the linkage rods, are they leading in direction of Rotation or trailing back? any advise or even correct pictures of this set up would geatly help!!! Thank you! James
