Hey I got the QuickUK swash. Beautiful piece.

Where do the washout links connect to? The longer or shorter ball studs?

Mike,

My studs are all the same length on mine but if you look at the inner mount there are two sides that are shorter (the material base itself) than the oposite, I've got my washout links connected to the shorter side and the links to the seesaw arms are connected to the longer.

Take a look at the picture, where the ball studs are short the base material is also smaller, my ball studs are all the same length but thats the side I used to connect my washout arms.

I'm confused because I was just reading the June Model Helicopter World article posted by John B HERE
and it says on the stock machine the washout is connected to the long links.

"The ball placement at the inner ring of the
swashplate also affects the control feel of the
model. The Tiger 50 includes two 12 mm x 2
mm bolts and two 3 mm x 2 mm i.d. bushings
for moving two of the control balls on the
swashplate further out. On the inner ring of the
swashplate there are four control balls. The two
balls that are further out are connected to the washout arms.
The two balls that are closer in
are connected via long pushrods to the Bell-
Hiller mixing arms. Adding the bushings move
these two balls further out resulting in a longer
lever giving greater main rotor blade angle
change as the swashplate tilts (this is Bell
command) which is often just what a 3-D pilot
is seeking."

Where in the Tiger directions does it show/tell us where the links go?

Mike

Thats interesting because until you posted I thought my quick UK lengths were all the same and just realized the base material being shorter that would make two of my ball studs shorter, I'll try moving them before I fly it next weekend and see if it makes any difference, I'm still going to try the things I mentioned in my PM to you though.

Does the Tiger instructions tell us about what goes where? I can't find the answer in the manual.

Look at page 17 bottom of the manual the picture shows the washout arms on the longer balls studs, and control rod "C" snaps onto the shorter ball stud.

Hey Mike,

Page 15 shows a blow up and describes changing the shorter balls to the longer for 3D or extreme performance.

If you have the swashball extensions on the swashplate I'm not sure it will matter which one's you hook up to on the stock swashplate. They appear to be the same distance from the inner ring.

Just my 2 cents worth.
