Audacity Models Pantera 50 - Tiger 50 > Flybar Weights ?

Do the flybar weights make the heli that much tamer? I am a
still a beginner and want the helicopter to be as stable, and
tame as possible... Also in the Addendum they recommend using
23mm long servo arms in place of the 20mm ones. Can I use the
20mm ones with ont interfering with anything and would shorter
or longer arms for the swashplate make it more tame, or WILD.
Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated...

When I first started to learn to fly with my Shuttle Plus I put it
into the ground a few times. Want to avoid this with the Tiger.

I've got the flybar weights in right now. I had a lot of expo dialed in on my Rex and I thought that the tiger may be easier to fly with them in. I would try with them first and see how you like it. Myself, I have to take them out. The cyclic is not responsive enough and I have no expo programmed. When there's no wind I can take my fingers off the stick for 3 to 4 seconds without having to go back and make corrections. Very, very stable and it does not react quickly/wildly to inputs.

With respect to the shorter or longer servo arms you need them 23mm so that they are perpendicular to the swash. With CCPM you need a straight run to the swash. Someone can probably explain why better than I can. I don't think 20mm arms will give you that. I think what makes the swash more reactive is longer/shorter linkage balls.

Edit: I should have checked before I spoke. I thought they were all the same. Mine are as Foxden describes and the swash works like it should.

you need 20mm on the two rear servo arms to the swashplate and 23 for the front servo, this put the swashplate level as it goes through its entire pitch range.

When setting up the swash, I've found that putting a leveling tool of some kind set at 16mm off the top of the bearing block and dropping the swashplate onto that with your left pitch/throttle stick in the middle will allow you to setup for 0 (zero) pitch midstick and will give you +11/-11 range with no binding.

The stock flybar paddles are very stable, John even includes some lead weight that you can slide into the paddles to make it super stable.

Thanks: Herc & Foxden

One more question, how important / critical is the weight of
each of the fly bar weights? On my weights I had to trim each of them
down a little ( O.D ) to fit into the paddles. If they were of equal weight,...there not any
more.... Will this cause a Major balance problem for the rotor head ?

It might, do you have or have access to a gram weight scale where you could weigh them and get them equal by snipping some off until they weigh the same. of did you notice if they were the same length after trimming them?

I think you will find that if you use the stock paddles with the weights in them the cyclic response will be about the same as a Shuttle with it's stock paddles and weights.

If you need the weights I think I may still have mine kicking around. I never used them. I'd be happy to weigh them, match them if need be and mail them to you if I still have them.
