we still need a proof that these engine is compatible on our 90 size heli (all brand) before we buy. Or else this will end up into another expensive paper weight.

Bill,

It is a CH unit with a smaller McDaniel plug cap.

Fixed timing (absolutely no issues with starting or transition).

Falkon is in the future as soon as they get get a new plug cap finished in development.

Either ignition works well, BME has always leaned towards Falkon so as soon as they plug cap issue is resolved that's what it will come with.

Time will tell on the heat/humidity... It's got a pretty big head though which shows promise.

gid01: Compatibility? it turns near 60/90 RPM, puts out almost 90 power, and is the same dimensions as a .61.

The only future issue I will be awaiting is heat as Bill mentioned... If that's a problem a new head is an easy no-brainer.

It really looks promissing, but for higher headspeeds, you'd need lover gear ratio and that might need a little fitting especialy with the glow only heli conversiond .At 7.92 and 14k on the engine it comes up at 1760 rpm on the head.Which is nice for some 3D,especialy running 710-720 mains ,but I like to get "wicked " with My Pmax and push it over 1850 and 690-70 blades.
One thing that I wanna know , how would the stock glow clutch and clutch mounting system hold up with all the torque 4 hp comes with?

Agreed Valerko, getting the gearing down is the next step. 7.92 on my EVO 90 will be nice as 1750 solid will rock pretty well. Low 7's would be a little better.

I don't take much stock in HP ratings and I assume you're talking about the future 2300 at almost 4 HP? I am sure any .90 sized machine can handle it.

They rate an OS .91 at 3.3 HP as I recall.
The G90 at 2.5 (glow version)

BME seems to think the G90 conversion is putting out 20% more at almost 3 HP even if you care about those numbers.

My flying perceptions and field comments would correlate with those numbers.

Do we have to purchase the 2300 and then send it in for the mod, or is the engine sold already modified? Where can we go to get a quote?

They will be sold outright. They may convert one if you already have it.

Contact http://www.bmeengine.com and Keith and the gang will help you out!

2300 is due around March last I heard.

Warren,

May have missed it, but what size blades are you running? This will be great for my scale heli.

Did you use the stock engine that can be seen at http://www.bmeengine.com/html/point90.htm or is there a new helicopter version?

Stock motor. The head is pretty good sized, so far no heat issues in mid 60 degree weather.

We'll see what's needed this summer.

Thanks,

I doult that, the Zenoahs will always have a place in this hobby....
Lets don't judge to quick, I see alot of work ahead for this puppy... Don't get me wrong, I want it to work and be successful, but I haven't seen hard core testing ...Warren said 70 performance, now you say the bomb, so I must assume Warren is holding back on us I have flown these type conversion before, its nothing new...The webra 120 conversion is pretty awesome, but 800 bucks is to much..
This motor seems to have potential in price, and we'll see in performance and how it holds up...

How about fuel? What are you using and at what mix ratio?

Coleman or Ozark with a touch over 3oz of Amsoil to the gallon. About 50:1.

I went to this link. They have it tied to a 95cc hyperlink. Are they smoking something funny or don't they know how to use a calculator?

My experience with a First Place engine in an airplane was extremely noisy rf interference because of the electronic ignition. How do they solve that in a heli? Can't get the ignition circuits far enough away from the radio gear.
