I watched Warren flying the hell out of that thing several flights before the mid air. (man that was nasty).

there was a Raptor 90 and some MA 90 flying that day as well and I, as inexperienced as I am however, could not see any lack of performance.

But of course Warren, "Dr. Smooth", may have a lot to do with that.

the only thing missing is the pull starter..

Top starts are no problem, pull starters are for weedeaters...

Warren, do you know the length of the crank shaft (from bearing to tip) on the ST 90 gasser ??

""Top starts are no problem, pull starters are for weedeaters""

pull starts are simply convenient !!

Very true there Jim, most scoff at the extra weight these days.

I don't know the length, I'll be pulling mine apart this weekend and can check, or you can give BME a quick call.

I had no fitment issue fan/clutch on my mechanics so it shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry for being ignorant if I missed this in previous posts, but will this engine fit in a Raptor 60? No gear ratio changes required? I am intrigued.....

Hello, Peter. What's happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports

Do you use a governor? Any special pickup like the Stator Gator?

gilliraldi,,, the ST 90 uses a ST 60 crack case, it should fit in your Raptor 60, you may need a different motor mount, and you will for sure need different gears..

Hey Warren if you can prove that this G90 engine will fit on any 90 size heli. I think a lot of people will convert their nitro engine to this gasser engine. I'm really interested on this engine.

Let's see if I can get to all the questions:

This motor turns @10-14K well, you may not need to change the gearing depending on what you are after. I was at about 8.45:1 turning about 1600. I could also run 1700 and the motor ran well. I did this turning 710's and was pretty happy.

It was installed in a mix of old X-Cell and Intrepid parts. It's new home will be of course Hirobo.

The G90 is smaller than the big block .90, so fitment will not be straight-forward.

I used the standard governer magnet install, a Stator Gator could be used; I plan on getting a motor to Tom to work that out.

Yes it should work fine in a Raptor 60 airframe. I would run the stock gearing to see how it works for your flying style and go from there. Around 7.25-7.5 I think would be optimum however... More tests to follow once I rebuild.

It is as generator friendly as any other glow counterpart.

Video, I am expecting some from friends, so far that are leaving me hanging. (hint hint guys!)

I think that covers it.

Well heck anybody that rides a V-strom has to be ok.

How about vibrations?
Any more or less than a .90 glow?

I love that bike...

I've not run a glow Supertigre .90, but I would say it is MUCH less than the Zenoah's and on par with a glow .90. I switched out a YS .91 on the project and placed this in and I couldn't see a difference.

So, vibes weren't ever an issue on my platform. Caveat being my side frames were G10 (I love G10).

Aluminum and carbon frames will tell the tale; but BME says they are equally smooth after the conversion so I am very hopeful they are correct. You do gain some extra pulse roughness on a conversion, but I think it will be moot on these motors.

By the way, I am going into crazy build mode and am trying to free my calendar to get to the Vegas Funfly and show her off; so stay tuned!

Plans are to fit the motor into my EVO 90 with a 7.92 ratio.

I gotta have one of these puppies, can't wait to see a 50 class gasser engine.

This is great news if it can handle this southern heat, and humidity...I'm sure someone would come out with a heli head for it
What ignition system? CH?
