e-MS Composit Hornet > Microheli Swash Problems..

Ok just got my Microheli 120 swashplate with anti rotation support. Went to install it first thing I noticed the lin kballs were very tight on the links. Ok not such a big deal... a little 600 grit sand paper will fix that. Attached the swash to the Hiller Mixer and Cyclic supports, everything is cool... Next I go to install the servo links to the outer swash plate balls and .. POP.. one of the link balls breaks inside of the servo links, looks like it was milled too thin. The tolerance between the allen head screw size and the thinkness of the wall on the ball link is too thin. I have an email in to Microheli we'll see what happens.

Anyone else using the micro heli swash? I'm sure there are a few. Any of you guys have a similar problem.

I have a micro heli swash. I love it. I haven't had any problems yet but I find that the swash itself is weak. The arms on the swash can be easily bent so be carefull. Did you sand the ball or the inside of the link. You shouldn't have to sand the brass ball. If i find a tight link in my hornet I usually spin the link around really fast for about a min and the link usually gets loose.

Andy from mircoheli is good at replacing parts. Just let him know your situation and he will send you the part or even a new one.

Yep I noticed that the arms are a bit soft. In a hard crash I can see that beinga problem. But its the least expensive swash out there and besides the possiblity of bending the swash feels very tight and precise.

Thanks for the reply good to know they have excellent customer service.

I used a mH swash for some time before switching to a Duzi. I had no problems with the mH swash but only thought I did when I replaced it with the Duzi. It's soft and bends, but it bends right back too.

For ball links that are too tight, you don't have to sand or really work on them at all. Simply snap the link onto the ball and give the link a little squeeze on the ball with pliers. It will be quite loose when you let go of it with the pliers depending on how tightly you squeeze.

Thats a great tip for the links, I'll have to try it. I just waiting to see if MICROHELI is going to send me some replacement balls.

Ok started this thread on 1-22-06 Emailed MicroHeli about the problem, I recieved an email back, 4 days after asking if the balls were brass or alu. Upon reciept of andy's email I replied and told him aluminum. Its been 2 weeks no response email, and still no swash balls, so I took the liberty of just ordering a set. I'm kind of disappointed. Duzi next time
