Finally, finally.

Bought the darn thing at the end of October after reading up about it and getting tired of this part or that part crapping out on me on my Raptor 30 v1. Been so busy I haven't had time to get out and fly. Plus, all the "kids" on the block have 50's so I wanted to upgrade.

Slogged out to my "field" which was more of a swamp today, fueled her up the Hyper started easily even at 3 turns out (new motor). Boy that thing goes through fuel, especially when running slobbering rich! This thing's going to have a ton of power--even now it has muscle running super rich.

I love it already! All I did was hover and do some slow figure 8's, but I'm doing far less corrections than my R30--I assume it's due to far less slop! It just feels smooth and predictable. I'm using the stock paddles with no weight, the outer hole on the included seesaw, and the included swashball extensions. This thing is stable! I imagine with the weights and without the swashball extensions it would be like it was sitting on a tabletop when hovering. The blades are slightly out of track, which I didn't fix yet because I forgot to bring tracking tape.

There's a pinging sound on spool-up, so I hope that's a loose belt, and not the bearing on the pinion gear. I followed the addendum and used some JB weld but maybe it came loose anyway. Also had some tail drift and a slight buzz at the tail fin, which I hope is just from running the engine so rich.

If you had a loose pinion it would be doing more than pinging. When my Tiger's pinion came loose it was more like a squealing.

Sounds like your belt.
Check it for excessive looseness. They will stretch slightly when first used. You should be able to deflect the belt about a 1/4" behind the front pulley.

It is normal to hear the belt slapping a little inside the boom when you spool up the Tiger.

Now that I've had it on the bench and doing some fine tuning, and installing my CSM governor, I'm running into a glitch I've had before when I had my receiver mounted on my R30. It's a pulsating back and forth that starts with the tail servo than gets worse on it's own. I'm lucking this didn't happen while in the air. I think radio and receiver needs to go in for service. I've tried everything except replacing the tx.

Radio Check....

Don't know how old your radio is, but I know that I send my equipment in about every three years, even if it is working fine... never hurts to have a "check-up"!!!!
But, are you sure that you are not just "swamping" the reciever with the Tx being that close to the unit?? Also do you have a battery monitior on board... if so try moving the wire away from the reciever as much as possible.... just a couple of thoughts...
Good Luck... Stan
