| I had one. It would barely hover, and couldn't get out of it's own way. This was back before Tim Lampe pissed off the high princess of The Empire and was still running the heli program, so the Concept Hotline was still in place, manned by guys who knew something about r/c besides cars.
I called, they said send it back, we'll fix you right up. I did. It came back with a new, obviously different motor. Now, instead, of wallowing around for five minutes before exhausting the battery, it hovered fine for two minutes. Still wouldn't fly around for squat.
Some folks have good luck with electrics, because I've seen the evidence. But I also know that these people have major bucks invested in batteries; I mean serious dollars.
I've tried e-power three times; a monster truck, a helicopter, and a small plank. All three endeavors were disappointing. Perhaps when battery technology makes a quantum leap in capacity, and is affordable, I might try it again. In the meantime, I hope you have better luck with yours than I did with mine. You can indeed make it fly pretty good; but it will take some dust, as you have realized.
