Mounted them inside - bent slightly away from sides. You can diffuse them with a little hot glue over the lens or by using a little 'mirror' trick I tried with aluminum tape and reflecting them off the battery. Patent that last one for me

Mine is simple but it's my first real RC heli (Blade doesn't count) so I'm pretty stoked with how it came out. Camera phone pic so the quality isn't so good either.
Better ones coming someday

what did you clear coat with? Looks excellent. I paint with faskolor stuff and am trying to figure out what clear to use.

These pic's were taken before I applied the clear coat. The colour is a lot deeper now but I don't have any recent pic's, not that a photo would show the depth anyway.

The paint job's on some of the heli's in this thread are awsome !!!
