I've been asking Mark now for a few weeks. Aren't there enough posts on Quick Of Japan helis to warrant a forum? There must be more posts than for some of the obscure models by now.

My QJ8's swash is very level, ive used a level on it. but it drifts quite hard to the left rear. is this caused by the tail rotor, or is there more adjustment that can be done? just to let you guys know The blades have a few nicks in it from small pebbles that I got one day at this field Id never flown at before, i tried to minimaly fix them.

It is natural to require a bit of right aileron trim to get a nice hover, due to the rotation of the blades and countering tail.

Check your CG also. It might be causing a bit of drift to the rear

BTW, what setup are you running on your EP8?

its quite underpowered. Ive got a 2500mah Flight Power EVO 20 3s. CC35. AXI 2814/12 with a 19t pinion. I also have a 17t but I havent tried it yet. The motor came with the heli from Quick it was used and they gave me a big discount. Ive got BMS 380 metal gear sevos for the swash. GY401 and Futaba 9254 digital servo mounted on the boom. The BEC is bypassed I use a 6v flight pack through an MPI 5.4v voltage regulator. through this month Im going to be upgrading the motor and the ESC to accomodate a 6s setup. I also use a 3s 3000mah lipo but the pack doesnt last like the flight power does. My TX is a 7C. I have an original set of quick blades and Ive just picked up a set of MS Composits at 395mm. I havent tried these as Im waiting for the spacers from Quick. Ive ordered a motor mount for an AXI 2820/10 and the double bearing swash upgrade they make. My other helis are all ESky a cp2 and Honey bee king. I seem to always be crashing these both, but they are both fun nonetheless.

the motor and pinion henry sold me is great...although im only hovering, i do power up and it scoots up VE%Y crisply...then i have to calm down and get back to 5 foot....remember this is my baby and the other 2 heli's are "beaters"...

Count me in.. Got the QJ-8 and Fighter 50.
I can tell you though the QJ forum is not going to happen. Sorry to say but it's the truth. To have you own forum here you MUST be a paying vender. Right now Horld at Helicopter Hobbies is not going to do that. We've talked about this a number of times. To keep the price of an all metal heli down money has got to be saved some where. We are looking in the future of doing this but right now it's not in the cards. As I was writing this Harold called and he said that later this summer were going to start advertising so now it very well may be in the cards. Let's wait and see what happens. Also we do have some QJ forums at other spots on the web.

Others "spots"are out there..I know what you mean. There is alot of great info here at RR. Harold might try and advertise here later. I know he's going to do something after the Joe Nall FF in SC. We trying to get a bunch of kits together to go down there with.

Minature Aircraft doesn't advertise on RR and has a forum....so the advertising thing is not a valid argument for not letting QJ have a forum. It is simply because there is an advertiser that has Quick in their name...plain and simple. It all boils down to personalities...or lack there of. There are other forums out there on the net......

I dont think we'll be flying eigther. It's mainly a airplane thing. We did good last year and sold out of almost all the kits we brought. Should be the same this year. Set up a booth and wait and see.
If you bring your heli down I would be more than willing to look it over for ya.

I agree, you guys should have your own forum. You guys have been abusing the new and emerging forum for quite a while, although I do like looking at these fine quality birds now and again, Keith
