I have about 10 flights on my new tiger and I have alot of the bugs worked out. However, I noticed that the tail belt seems to stretch - it doesn't look like the boom has moved, as I really tightened the four bolts that hold the boom... any suggestions?

Hello, Peter. What's happening? We need to talk about your TPS reports

If you are flying in the cold, then the boom could be shrinking, causing the belt to loosen.

Did you also tighten the two set screws?? There is one on each side of the frame.. adjust your tension not that you have run it in a little and then set them... should do the trick..

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

The boom slides in if you don't put electrical tape around it. I think that is the consensus solution that works the best. I see nothing wrong with a clean black tape application. Don't overlap the tape.

The set screws I think are silly. The boom material is real thin. Also if you need to adjust you then have preset poked spots on the boom that may make moving the boom and holding it in a different location difficult. The boom has those long slots in it that really take away from the clamping effect of the frames. There is very little full dia. boom in the frames. Don't cover the slots with tape either. They are clearance for the belt.
