Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Falcon Tail Rotor Mod

Before I post what I did with pictures and how I did it...

I'd first like to say, that the stock Falcon SE v2 tail setup is fine, even for 3D.

There are guys out there who are interested in Fast Forward flight & fast piroetting at the same time. This is who the mod is for. You will note that most pro-3D flyers will not be piroetting and moving quickly at the same time (check out any of the online videos). They are piro'ing between 1-2 piros per second, and go no faster than 10-15 mph while doing chaos, continuos piro flips or piro'ing funnels. They fly within the limits of their helis.

Also, a more elegant mod using Raptor60 parts is available by Lift.

Okay, disclaimers. Do it at your own risk .

Here's the stock Falcon Tail with max left rudder.

Here's the stock Falcon Tail with max right rudder

Drill a hole in the center of the blade grip forming an equalateral triangle of holes. But the ball there.

Next grind the tail rotor hub down so that the pitch slider can move out alot more. Be sure not to grind too much metal off. Allow a 1-2 mm gap before you reach the set screws.

Now, here's the new max throws. Max left first

Now here's the Max right modified.

I haven't really pushed the limits of this setup yet, so I dunno how much of an improvement it made. I am happy, that the normal hovering characteristics of the heli hasn't changed, and hopefully the tail rotor hub wasn't overly weakened!!! .
