Im getting one tonight, just don't know a few things

White Kit
White Assembled
Black Kit
Black Assembled

Ive put together rc cars and am pretty mechanicly inclined, so I think that I can go with a kit, white or black though? Opinion post purely...

Also, is the kit pretty easy?

I bought the white kits as it was the only color available at the time. Now that I've had it for a while I find it easier to see than the black skids for indoor flying. There's your first opinion.....

Get the Kit. It takes all of about 10 minutes to assemble it. There is a link to the website where you download the assembly manual.

Orderd a black kit.

So you guys like the product? I bought it for the strength, as ive broken 3 pairs of stockers, but I hear that it really improves flight. Will that be a improvement that will help me hover lol?

It won't help you hover, but it will easy the not so pretty landings until you get the hang of coming out of a hover smoothly....

I see how it would help the stability of the heli a tad bit though, kind of like a weight always wanting to hang parallel to the ground, keeping the heli flat... IDK, grabbing at straws, man I need to learn how to hover LOL

I don't know about durability; I never managed to wreck a stocker. But it goes a long way to making the Blade/Honeybee look like a "proper" helicopter. The antenna tube is a nice touch too. For the honeybee, I think it improves the fit of the canopy, and allowed me to move the battery further forward, helping my COG out quite a bit.

But mostly it makes the heli look the business. Hang a GI Joe off there and re-inact your favorite late 70s cop show.

Did you guys cut the antenna the length of the tube? If so, did it affect the signal at all?? I installed mine last night but didn't cut it yet......

good lord....DON't cut the antenna. The antenna length is critical to proper signal and the RX is tuned to the stock length.

The antenna tube leave a few inches left hanging out but unless your going inverted, this left hanging isn't an issue to worry over.

I'd go ahead and get the kit. You'll end up taking it apart getting everything installed anyway or fixing something later. It's truly not a complexed design so should be an issue for anyone to put together.

I got the white ones and painted them silver. White will be more visible. They are alot tougher than the stock CF rods...by far. I have yet to hear of anyone breaking these LG.

The instructions state to wrap the excess antenna around the 4-in-1 (or receiver, if you've gone seperates) before routing the antenna down the tube. I've done this, and the antenna doesn't hang out the back, I was able to install the cap at the end, and it looks super clean. Plus, I have experienced zero glitches inside or out, even in environments such as 20 RC guys flying around in a metal soccer dome with flourescent lighting. You can leave the antenna hanging out, but in my case it was like 5", and that's too risky IMO, for doing stall turns, let alone going inverted.

Bottom line: NEVER cut the antenna wire. Wrap and re-route all you want, avoiding carbon fiber pieces, wiring, and speed controllers where possible.

LOL.......didn't cut it just seeing what everybody else does.

Yes the landing gear does get the heli off the ground more, as a matter of fact I pulled the vertical stab off to save on weight and use the stock tail housing with my DD setup.

Also, in regards to the instructions on the web-site, I feel they're about as good as the english in the memo that comes with the kit

Got tired of wrapped wires and antenna tubes so I cut off the antenna wire 4 inches from the Rx and soldered an MAP antenna on. I mounted it on top of the right landing skid with small tie wraps. Range check over 100 hundred feet with the Tx antenna collapsed completely and no glitches while flying

If you have the stock pack it will just barely slide in the frame from the front of the heli. It's a very snug fit. I use a rubberband on the cf rods to hold the remainder of the battery that hangs out the front, I keep the plug to the front of the heli too......
Theres pic in my gallery of the landing gear upgrade

Not much adjustment in the CG is their?

What are the little clips for * doublesided clips, theirs two, they are on the two carbon rods that mount to the new gear..

The two clips are for holding your battery in. The open ends allow a rubber band to be in them.....

You can slide the clips forward or backward to compensate for the CG

For the antenna I used the Azarr M72-L, 7" long. Just run it down the skid and stuff it in the antenna tube. Nice snug fit and a super clean install. Range check is good and haven't had a glitch yet.
