Audacity Models Pantera 50 - Tiger 50 > 3D Yellow Damper Question

I just purcased a new Tiger 50 and I like it alot. I've upgraded to the yellow dampers from the get go. I noticed the stock black ones fit the spindle easily and the blade grips move freely. However, the new yellow dampers are a very tight fit, even with di-elec grease. The blade grips seem a little tight now...even though it flew great.... I was always told they should move freely as not to put a load on the servos and links...

Is this something that needs to be resolved, or will they loosen up a bit after some more flights??

Thanks in advance

Yeah, they'll work in with time.

I put the 3D flipped grip mod on last night and have to say as well that the blade grips seem a little tighter than stock after I tightened up the allen bolts on each end of the spindle.

The thick 6mm ID washer gets noticably compressed into the yellow dampener which (I think) in turn applies excess compression of the thrust bearing assembly creating a little friction.

I too think it will work in with some use but it was certainly startling to me at first.

I too was concerned about the tightness of the new blade grips.
I talked to John and he assured me it would loosen up after I flew it.
He was right, after 1 flight it was nice and free.
Flew great too.

If doing the new blade grips be sure to go over your pitch curves before you fly it. Mine were off a bit. With a little linkage tweaking I was good to go and it flew great.

You can also put a drop of Triflow down between the grip onto the yellow damper and after a flight or two it will loosen up.
